Wow, pats really lucked out here. Everyone assumed the 49ers were an up and coming team, who would make the playoffs in the NFC. Now there the second worst team in the NFL. I think belicheck is going to take a long look at Dorsey. Lets call it, the saban connection. ;)

I actually hope it is the second pick. Because that would be hilarious.

if the Draft order stands as it does today, and McFadden is on the board still. you have to take him. slot him and LM in the backfield and youll instantly have one of the best running tandems in the league. but id be willing to bet the pats trade away the pick for later 1st rds this year and maybe next, to recoup what they lost

I'm up for anything. If they can drop down and pick up another quality player and add more parts, I'm down for it. I'd love to draft Mike Hart out of Michigan, I'd think he would compliment Maroney very well and he could be had later in the draft. That would allow us to draft a LB/LT/CB with the extra pick that we get. But I would be very happy with McFadden. mahalo

D-mac is amazing! Him or bust. I mean honestly, he tore up LSU and has been ripping the SEC in general his whole career.

We will trade down. Did Reggie bush look like a great running back in college? And what has he done in the NFL? Taking a back at 2 is huge risk compared to trading down and pumping new life into your entire roster..

lol. oh ok, replace one of the best ends in the league in his prime with a rookie dt who has a rep for taking plays off in college.

He's kinda coming off a year when he had surgery and missed 8 games.

hold up. i never said replace Seymour. before the year started, I said Seymour was the best DT/DE (whatever the hell you want to call him) in the NFL.

right now, he is coming off an injury- and i do cut him slack. I will give him to progress and get better

but if you deny that this year, he is not shedding one on one blocks he used to be able to- you are flat out ignoring the truth.

i hope and pray Seymour returns to form- but I am all for bringing in a STUD DT to push him and rotate through with our other D lineman.

But we already have FOUR starting quality defensive linemen. Why on earth would you want five? Would it be nice to have Dorsey? Sure it would be but there are too many weak spots on this team to have four first round defensive linemen AND Jarvis Green who is signed long term when most defensive sets only have three d-linemen. If we ran a 4-3, you may have a point but it's overkill and takes up way too much of the cap to have that any defensive linemen. We have too many other needs that Dorsey is just overkill. Nice idea but it just doesn't make sense for the team right now. mahalo

I really, really think the Pats are going to keep the pick and take Jake Long. It makes too much sense.

How is the cap situation and do you want to give Jake Long that much money (how much would he get as a potential #2 overall selection?)

I'm leaning toward Long too, OT is clearly our most glaring weakness right now.

After this season, the cap space will be around $10MM, with 40-something guys under contract.

Man not a fan of the Bengals right now. How do they lose to a third string QB and a crappy Niners team?

^^Yeah I was pissed. What are we looking at now, at best a 5th overall pick? I mean, I dont see the Falcons winning, or St. Louis, or even the Jets.

Return to New England Patriots
