Between this, the Saban debacle last year in Miami and Cameron's current debacle in Miami, I don't expect to see many college coaches to get a crack at the NFL for a LONG time.
F*** Marc Davis, f*** Tim Donaghy and f*** David Stern as a staff, record label and as a mothaf**kin crew......and if you wanna be down with Stern then F*** YOU TOO!!! Stu Jackson f*** you too.....all you mothaf**kas F*** YOU TOO!!!!

Well I wouldnt throw him in there for that category. I know he was a head coach at indiana but he was offensive coordinator of the chargers for four years so its a different situation (he was also a QB coach in the NFL for a few years before indiana). Yes Petrino was with the Jaguars (as a Coordinator of a crappy offense), but he then went back to college coaching for 5 more years.
Petrino was hired based off his success as a HC in college (Louisville), Cameron was hired because hed been the OC of a NFL team the previous 4 years that had a good offense. I just differentiate who is considered one of these "College Coaches" based on what they were hired for, just my opinion.

Atlanta's season has been in the toilet since the spring, who would want to be part of that organization right now? It's a complete mess, I feel bad for Blank.
Petrino is still an **** for walking out on his guys though with only three games to play. I could understand a few games into the season, he says "You know what, this just isn't for me, I want to get out early before it gets any worse."
But three games left and you walk out on your players? The rest of the staff? Your owner who has been behind you the entire time? If that isn't a p****, I don't know what is.
Finish out the season before quitting.

You're an NFL coach...that is your job to stick with the team and be the sign of stability even if the organization is trash at this time. No one was going to call Petrino a bad coach for this season considering what he had to work with.
And no, he shouldn't have walked out a few games into the season either...not every team in the NFL can be in a great situation...if that were the case everyone would go 8-8. You give it a shot for a few years and if you can't rebuild then you resign or maybe you bite the bullet and get fired. But who knows, if he had stayed another 2 years and got his team to overachieve then he could have improved his status and got even a higher profile job.
Now, I understand that had he stayed longer his stock may go down or the Arkansas job may not be open. But now he has shown that he is willing to leave whenever the going gets tough or he sees more money somewhere else. He is going to have a hard time getting recruits and if he fails at Arkansas, he is going to have a very hard time finding anyone else to hire him.

No doubt. I'm amazed to see Saban's douchebaggery being trumped by Petrino's. The captain goes down with the ship. But this ass-clown just bounced.
And it's as though he's rationalizing it as, "Well, nobody could've salvaged that situation." But he didn't make any improvements whatsoever, and there was absolutely no sign of progress the entire year. That's simply bad coaching, independent of any background issues.
