Why??? Just Why??? Can someone explain it???

Post#1 » by KOBE_PAUER » Tue Mar 23, 2010 11:35 am

The Lakers never had played a lineup Kobe-Artest-Odom-Gasol-Bynum

Best backcourt and frontcourt in the game easily !!! I heard some statements about its too bigger for frontline......And cant understand it, Odom-Gasol can play in almost every position.
And Kobe can play the point better than Mummy Fish who adds nothing to this team. Our team would be more powerful and versatile.

Because of poor rotation and spacing.

Umm I could swear I saw this lineup a few times right when Walton first went out and it worked out ok.

IMO that is a great lineup to play against the Mavs, LO has to hit his shot though.

I might just be thinking of when we ran LO, Pau, and Bynum at the same time but I swear I remember seing it with Kobe and Artest in the backcourt but maybe it was when Ron got in foul trouble. Hmmm.

Thta would be a beastly rebounding line as well, we could use it at times against Cle or Denver too since Lamar defends Mello/Bron pretty well and Kobe matches up well on Chauncey/Mo.

That line up really does not matter. I think LO coming off the bench gives the Lakers more depth and strength over all. No reason to have Fisher not in the starting lineup. He has earned that spot. He has hit big shots and we might not have beat the Magic last year without those 2 big three pointers.

Having 7'- AB, 7' PG and 6'10 LO in the same line up is nice, but maybe it is to much height. Small guards might beat them down court. As long as all are healthy for the playoffs, that is what counts. Whatever the line up is.

If i was Phil, id start that lineup one day just to **** with the other teams head...

Edit: and have Gasol and Odom play 1 and 2, since they have good ball handling skills for big men. :D

That's a hell of a defensive lineup right there. But offensively.... i have my doubts. Horrible spacing, and Odom can't hit the three consistently. Artest is not as dangerous with the three anymore so a team like Dallas will just clog the paint with two 7 footers and double kobe and you have no real deadly shooters to work with.

with that said, i agree with previous post. Start the lineup just to F with the other team's head. I would love hear the other coach's wiretap when Artest, Odom, Gasol, Bynumite goes earthquaking down the floor.... with kobe at point.

LMAO you could even do this:
C - Bynum
PF - DJ Mbenga
SF - Gasol
SG - Odom
PG - Kobe

lol...

Too Bad Fisher cant hit the three anymore....Check out who's hitting from downtown this season, Mister Black Mamba.....Our shooters are choking, but we'd improve the defensive skills at the point guard, the thing that worries me a lot....

I remember seeing it too...

If I was a betting man, I'd say Phil is holding a few things back for the playoffs/finals... Maybe that's one of them.

It has to work better than some of the lineups I've seen this season.

If Kobe, LO, and Ron Ron can commit to cutting and dishing in the paint as a first option BEFORE hoisting a 3, It could be pretty deadly...

Imagine Kobe/ron, Kobe/LO, or LO/Ron screen and rolls with an open Pau or Bynum in the paint, and an open shooter left on the perimeter...

I would like to see it myself instead of saying it won't work without trying.

odom doesn't work at small forward. its been tried. i think artest/kobe could work at pg/sg for short stints, but not with odom at sf.

That would be a pretty scary lineup IMO...your 5 best players on the floor.

Or Phil tries this lineup or we are dead. Fish cant defend the top pgs. Huge mismatch against us.

Lineup looks great on paper but not sure if it would necessarily work on the court. Phil has seemed pretty reluctant to have Odom, Gasol and Bynum all on the floor at the same time. I think his primary concern is the frontline defensive rotation with the 3 of them playing together. Offensive spacing would probably suffer as well.

Odom would be an awesome point guard. Make it happen, Zen Master.

I wish the trade went down

Hinrich and Kobe best back court in the NBA, amazing D
Kobe and Artest best wing in the NBA, amazing D
Gasol, Bynum, LO best front line in the NBA, amazing rebounding and dont sleep on the defensive ability of these 3.

Why oh why, it was only 9 mil a year, less than AMMO + Sasha
