OT: Tosh on how Kobe got his killer turn-around

Post#1 » by Mamba Venom » Tue Mar 23, 2010 8:01 am

Saw a comedy show last week. Daniel Tosh from TVs Tosh.O.

He did some jokes on Kobe and the Lakers some would piss everyone on this board off... not going to say those.

He had a really interesting g perspective on Kobe coming clean w/ his wife. Its how he became a better player.

After confessing to Vanessa, Kobe was only allowed to be 2 places. He could be at home or he could be on the court practicing. He went on to say "I'd have a killer turn-around if I was never allowed out of the house!"

Never thought of it like that. I'm sure he wasnt out parting after all that crazy stuff went down and their is no doubt that he became a better player post 2005. Coincidence or is Tosh onto something

Random Trust Fall!
Lakers are 22-3 in OT last 6 seasons:Kobe best OT closer!

Its a good story, but i'm not sure he's ever been better than he was during 2003. 2004 and 2005 were subpar years mostly because of injury, after which his athleticism was never really the same.

If he got better in anything it would be as a teammate, not skill-wise.

I will say being locked up somewhere with only one thing to do is a good way to improve, however. Its how I picked up guitar.

Same here I never liked weapons and never touched a gun until I was "locked away" for about 4 months within that time I had to learn how to shoot a rifle. I was terrible! HORRIBLE! However, I didn't do much of anything else but practice the craft of marksmanship. When my time was up I was extremely efficient with a rifle. EXTREMELY... Things you pick up when you have nothing much else to do  Thanks Mr. Recruiter!

Man, let Kobe be Kobe. Why do they think it is funny to bring up the past.

Tosh.0 on Comedy Central is hilarious. I haven't seen any stand up from him though.

Someone should tell this Tosh fellow that it is 2010 and not 2005. Kobe jokes are played out.

Tosh is trippin because Kobe Bryant was one of the most skilled and polished player pre 2005, if anything he is smarter, wiser and experienced post 2005. I know Shaq was a force in 2000-2002 no doubt, but Kobe had just as much as to why we were unstoppable. That was a high flying Kobe Bryant who was dunking on people, swatting away at shots, he use to do quite a few chase down block from behind similar to what we see from Lebron right now except not as powerful and often. That Kobe was also clutch. The Kobe we see today is less athletic, more willing to pass, better leadership but I don't agree that Kobe is much better player. Some people need to watch basketball before they make jokes, that turnaround fadeaway was developed prior to 2000. Individual skill wise its really the same except he makes better decision with the ball now. Only thing you can say is that Kobe is a much better team player.

With that said, the young immature Kobe still won 3 rings. The older and wiser Kobe has 1 and hopefully counting.

Return to Los Angeles Lakers
