Other than Andray, we have no one.

Our 2nd best player is Thornton who is an inefficient chucker. Our 3rd best player is Randy Foye who sucks beyond all comprehension.

Our complementary players include JaVale McGee, Earl Boykins, Quentin Ross, Alonzo Gee, Shaun Livingston, James Singleton, etc.

This is a horrible, horrible team and it's a miracle we've won the 4 games we did, to be honest.

To be fair, Thornton has been decent in his tenure with Washington. As the #2 option, he has posted a TS% of .536. That's a little low, which is indicative that he shouldn't be a 2nd option, but if he was a 3rd option he'd probably shoot around .550. That's a respectable shooting percentage. I'd label him as a starting-caliber player (so far).

But I am in agreement with the rest of your post. Outside of Blatche and Thornton, there isn't another player on the team that would start on a 35-win team. Everybody sucks. To put it into perspective, a valid case can be made that James Singleton is the 3rd best player on the team, and Singleton averaged 8 "garbage time" minutes per game in Dallas.

This thread is a joke now. Blatche is miles and miles ahead. Start a McGee vs Bargnani thread, that might be closer.

Although Bargnani has been pissing me off lately with his total disinterest in playing basketball, I wouldn't count him out just yet, cause remember the last time everyone thought this was a joke thread in Blatche's favour.

While I easily take Bargs at this point, it does raise a question of who is a worse defender? Both get blocks because they are so dang long and moble....Who am I kidding, any player in the league is a better defender than McGee. I almost think Nate Robinson could guard centers better than McGee can.

Blatche is taking 20 shots per game since the All-Star break. I am confident Bargnani would match or surpass his point total given that many shot opportunities. Blatche is a better rebounder than Bargnani but he is not really better defensively. Bargnani is quite a bit more versatile offensively and can do more things than Blatche.

It's nowhere nearly as clear-cut as people think. Blatche has done little over his career to convince me that he is a better player than Bargnani. He is enjoying a hot run at the moment but let's hold off on the accolades until he shows he can do it for a full season.

I completely disagree, because Bargnani barely creates his own offense. He's not a one-on-one player. He gets his points within the construct of the offense, and rarely strays away from that. Did you notice how much he struggled without Bosh, and still couldn't manage to score more points with Bosh out? It's because he can't. Blatche doesn't need a spread offense or a spoonfeeding point guard to score.

I'll take Blatche from a defensive perspective over Bargnani anyday of the week, Bargnani's weakside defense is weak at best.

bane_dd wrote:Bargnani is quite a bit more versatile offensively and can do more things than Blatche.

Most laughable statement ever. Bargnani barely has a post game and is assisted on 74% percent of his shots (vs. 55% for Blatche). Blatche doubles Bargnani's assist totals per 36 and has a higher PER. The only thing "versatile" about Bargnani is that he can shoot the 3 and that's it. He's never going to create for his teammates like Blatche has the ability to do.

Only part of your post I agree with. Blatche still has to do it for a whole year. With that being said, Blatche >>>>>> Bargnani.

I wouldn't say Bargs doesn't create his own offense, just that he's not a guy who you can give it to and let him create the shot. For example Tyreke Evans drives are the dribble, check my man, here comes the pick, penetration variety. Bargnani's drives are I'm semi open, pumpfake, defender's gone, drive in for the dunk variety. Bargnani's speed and the pumpfake itself make the play, but it's not a play you can set up and plan for like Tyreke's

I do think if he's the top option next year he'll adjust more to creating his own shot and we'll run a lot more midrange screens and stuff for him, but as of now he definitely has more of a 3rd option game

lol I feel sorry for the Wizards franchise and their fans. What a horrible year, and finally when they get a youngster playing really well, he pulls this ****.

Time to bump this thread as a new season is upon us? Both are going to be the unquestioned number 1 frontcourt players for their teams. Both are locked into extensions.

^^He's recovered except he looks about 20 pounds heavier than he was last season.

Ps I'm hoping we can get this thread up to 100 pages by the end of this season :)
