Flynn vs Realistic Expectations

Whenever a rookie is drawing comparisons to Chris Paul - a first team All-NBA player - before he even plays a game, you have to assume that's inevitably going to lead to some frustration.
Nonetheless, while Flynn has had his share of disappointment, he has also shown some promising signs to look forward to. His long range shooting seems more reliable than advertised. His optimism seems unbreakable. He's never going to allow himself to be discouraged for long. This may prove to be his most valuable trait of all. They say losing breeds a culture of losing and that can infect a franchise. Yet even as the last month of the season looms where the Timberwolves have posted the second worst record in the NBA, you still see a smile on the face of Jonny Flynn. It's the smile of a man that knows his NBA battle has only just begun, and as a Timberwolves fan, it's encouraging to know that there's at least one guy that can be knocked down, pounded and bruised, but never defeated.
