Wiretap: Booz wants to remain w/ Jazz

Post#1 » by BarneyGumble » Thu Mar 25, 2010 1:58 pm

Well....it sure seems like the events of last summer have done a complete recriprocal of themselves, but Carlos is now saying he wants to stay here. Honestly, I dont see why not. The Jazz is a serious team, competitive year in and year out. He has a chance to go down in history as a very accomplished PF in this league if he can stay the focal point of our inside game. Plus he has the #1 PG in the league, and some great talent around him. Why sign with Detroit or Memphis or some other scrub team?

That being said....I still think Boozer is in it for the bucks, and he will go where the money is. And we cant sign him unless we move Kirilenko or Millsap (just my opinion.)

What do you guys think about this? Do we want him back?

Of course he is for the bucks, which player isnt. Remember Malones huge contract? Oh yea before he went to play for the lakers. They got a HUGE discount.

Both Stockton and Malone publicly played at below market value for YEARS before Malone finally got his dues in his last contract with the Jazz. Both stated the reason was to help the Jazz have the flexibility to sign players that could help them win. Stockton never played at max money, and he was in the conversation as best PG in the NBA for about 7 years in a row.

There's no doubt that Booz wold re-sign here...For max money, which the Jazz simply can't afford right now. FO will not be able to give him the contract he wants.
