Well, I think it's more likely his career has more seasons closer to 350/450 split than 330/500 ones. I won't be shocked at all to see his OBP up a few more points and his HRs down.

I will say I don't think a high number of walks means anything in ST though. IMO if you're willing to look at pitches you'll get walked in ST. It's the only time a pitcher can be in a game situation and test out whether he really can get his new splitter over in a 3-2 count for a strike (as an example). Hill's only concern is keeping last year's swing intact so I doubt he's taking hacks at anything but no doubters. If he's hoping to see more pitches and get on base more this year, that's good too, but I think it's about health and protecting something that was working rather than a concerted effort to improve his walk totals. Now, that being said, I haven't seen or heard one second of ST, so I'm just talking out my bum.

Probably just a fluke that will "fix" itself when the season starts.

In all likelihood; it's just so far removed from Hill's general style (he didn't pick up his 10th walk last year until May 6) that I can't help but be a little hopeful...getting on with a little more frequency would be a nice offset if he can't scrape the fence 36 times this year.

I don't think Hill will come close to 36 HR this season. Around 25 sounds more reasonable.

Jays rocked Doc in his spring return. We won the game 5-2.

Frasor has been named the closer. Clearly, this was done for the sake of my fantasy team, and I applaud Cito for his decision. Now I just have to worry about him jerking Snider around.

Just a little heads up here, the Jays-Stros meaningless game is televised on Sportsnet starting at 8.

That has got to be a wig on Buck Martinez' dome.

Ugh. First thing I turn on to watch Jays in a while, I see Vernon's face. Made me a bit less happy to wath the game.
