Would you unretire #23 in Houston (Calvin Murphy's number) if Lebron wanted to come here?

I say that because it is obvious that Murphy was like the 3rd, 4th or even 5th greatest Rocket of all time.

Hakeem's number will never be unretired as he is the greatest Rocket in History. But a guy like Murphy who was a great player, would you unretire that number for Lebron (if Lebron requested it and said that was the only way he would come here.?)

Would I cheat on my girlfriend with Natalie Portman if the opportunity presented itself?? Hell yes!!!!! LeBron could come to Houston and have any number other than 34 and I'd be fine with it.

it would be very unclassy of Lebron. he may get the number in the end with Murphy relenting but it would be seen as disrespectful by some fans especially from the Murphy era.

i for one say NO. he can wear #6.

Ughhhhh Hell Yes!!! Calvin Murphy is no Dream, Jordan, Majic or as much as it pains me to say it,, KOBE. If king james is willing to come to HTown and he wants 23 guess what it is His. Know is this going to happen probably not.

The answer is NO. There is a reason why the number is retired. It's called respect. Wont do it even if it's Jordan in prime. He can have different jersey number.

PS
LeBron requested to change his jersey number from 23 to 6 for next season (if he's still a Cav), so even he don't want to wear #23.

You guys have Kevin Martin, who took a ton of bad shots and butchered ball movement in Sac.

Are you serious? Lebron avg 8.6(?) assists per game, it's not like he's a chucker. He's the most dominating force since MJ and prime Shaq, and you say Rockets won't adjust to LBJ? I mean, if Rockets were winning games like Cleveland or Lakers, I can understand. But c'mon, lets be serious here, Rockets isn't even making the playoff and you tell me you won't take Lebron?

Brooks
Martin
Lebron
Scola
Yao

with Battier, Ariza, Lowry, Budinger, Anderson, Hayes, and Hill backing up.

or even

Brooks
Martin
Ariza
Lebron
Yao

that will contend for a title for the next decade.

I won't speak for the Rockets, but Magic will unretires the number 6 for him if he choose to go here. :D

Lebron is the epitome of everything I hate about the NBA. Arogant as hell, different rules for different players, bad sportsman ship, etc. No doubt he make us better, but I would have a hard time rooting for him. I would much rather have more likeable guys like Bosh, Wade or Howard.

Yeah I wouldn't even ask his approval, we're talking about a wing player that's dominating the game the way only Michael Jordan dominated at one point. Calvin Murphy IMO is significantly overrated and should not be anywhere near the hall-of-fame.
