Pacers looking at 30-32 wins by seasons end....

Based on the fact nearly every team the Pacers face from here on out is currently in the top 10 in the lottery combined with the top teams. I honestly figure the Pacers to obtain roughly 30-32 wins by season end which is gonna be the bottom of the draft lottery.

Considering the health of the the team this year compared to last year, only to have a difference of 4-6 losses more in comparison is remarkable, being way less healthy this year indifference to last year.

Yes we will be picking in the lower part of the lottery meaning we will be targeting yet another big body like a Monroe, Patterson, or Whiteside, but our future is looking way better.

Wall or Turner would have been nice, but hey this is the way the ball bounces sometimes.

heres the thing, im glad were winning right now bc i dont like whose there at the 7th or 6th spot. I would love to get wesly johnson at 8 but i dont think that will happen. I bet we will end up picking 10th but i wouldnt mind us taking patterson or monroe next to hibbert. i also wouldnt mind bledsoe either.

This is what happens when you have a horrible system with above average players and you play the entire season the same. We have been doing this for awhile now to no success. It is frustrating.

It's not a waste when it's your young guys that are contributing to the wins. That's progress. They're growing as a unit and that's going to pay off in the future. Tonight, they beat one of the best teams in the NBA. That builds confidence. Now they know what they're capable of if they play to their full potential.

Winning games with your young group is much more valuable than losing on purpose just to gain a couple spots in what ends up being a lottery anyway.

That's just my 2 cents. I understand some people see it the other way, and I understand they have their reasons but me, I can't sit there and cheer for a loss. I can't not let my emotions get the best of me when I see Granger, Roy, etc. get fired up after a great play. I gotta get up, yell and support my team. That's just my nature. So let the lottery balls fall where they want.

Time to start thinking about the 10-12th pick in the draft...... and another season of JOB.

Hope those who truly wanted this win streak are happy.

Don't worry, this time next year we'll have the same argument about if it's time to tank or not when we're the 5th worst team in the league.

I swear we are turning into the Buffalo Bills of the NBA. I would rather put up with a few more losses in a year where we have no chance of making the playoffs than ending up with more of the same. Also Bird would be less likely to reach for players like he did with Hansborough if we have a higher pick in the draft.

As far as the younger players playing better and gaining confidence, I'm fine with that. I just wish that we could have both losses and better play from our younger players.

Last year we won 8 of our last 12 and the year before that 11 of our last 16. Finishing strong late in the year proves nothing.

that's exactly what the warriors did through all of last decade..We also had fans insisiting the winning would translate into the next season. :nonono:

Guys with high basketball IQ are Bird's likely target in this draft.

At first I had only a few players who qualify under the high IQ, but since found others.

Evan Turner -- G/F -- Ohio State
Greg Monroe -- PF/C -- Georgetown
Ed Davis -- PF -- North Carolina
Patrick Patterson -- PF -- Kentucky
Xavier Henry -- SG/SF -- Kansas
Devin Ebanks -- SF -- West Virginia
Kalin Lucas -- PG -- Michigan State

There are likely a few others on the list as time moves along, but this is primarily what could be in the first round to date.

I feel like the team is deliberately antagonizing me. We've dropped from 4th in the lotto to 9th in about a week and a half. Aside from Phoenix with 6, our 5 game winning streak is the longest active streak in the NBA right now. I don't believe this carries over to next year because it didn't last season. It's just a product of a front-loaded schedule. I'm just annoyed that I've had to go from looking at profiles of Wall, Turner, Cousins, and Favors on draftexpress to looking at guys like Greg Monroe.

Best Case: Brad Miller
Worst Case: Josh McRoberts

It seems like destiny.

It was more difficult to have carryover not just because of schedule, but mostly because the lineups were as stable as Ron Artest's mental state. The way I see it is we didn't play a single game all year with our full capacity lineup. Last season ended with what's looking like the same record, but we had everybody playing well. Nobody could've predicted that TJ Ford was going to be THIS bad, and Granger and Dunleavy were injured. Dunleavy is at 30% capacity right now. If our team is firing on all cylinders and we keep Earl Watson, any contributing talent from this draft could get us into the playoffs at .500 (at that time I'm sure some would be wanting to tank instead of getting the #17 pick and the first playoff appearance since Jermaine O'Neal was on the team).

There's also the possibility that we move up in the draft via trade, especially in regards to snagging Wall, wherever he lands. Many of the top-picking teams either have good young PG's or young PG's that they are invested in already.

You're right. I'd even go a little further then that, and say we ain't getting any top 5 pick unless we package Danny up.
