I don't see any team doing that trade.

DraftExpress lists Aminu as an NBA SF/PF, so it must be possible, right? A 6'8 SF who's only 19 and plays solid D is kind of intriguing. If our lineup were Darko, Al, Aminu, Brewer, and Rubio, we'd have size at every position. 7'0, 6'10, 6'8, 6'9, and 6'4. Seems like the kind of team that could really give opponents trouble. Probably not worth giving up K Love to try it out, but it has its appeal.

Brewer is really 6' 7.75". Defensively that would still be nice. Offensively we would be the worst 3 point shooting team ever. On a related note, Pekovic is supposed to be 6'11".

I would look at Aminu as an athletic SF/PF who can provide defense at the SF/PF position. He could be assigned to guard player like Carmelo Anthony at SF or Rashard Lewis at PF. The main thing that he would bring is athletic defense. His offense contribution would be secondary. But I can see him finishing in transition and off lob passes. With Darko at center Aminu would make a good defensive complement to Al at the forward positions.

Somewhat. If you look in the other topic, I made the point that I don't see it as keeping Love or keeping Jefferson, I see it as keeping Love or keeping neither.

Probably not straight up. I was thinking more along the lines of Jefferson for top 10 pick + extras and then Pekovic (or Sessions or Flynn, etc) + top 10 pick for Favors.

I'm one who believes that Al will be back to his old self next season. I think we need a guy like Al on this team (inside scoring). I feel Love gets traded before Al.

In my opinion this isn't a must, but if you draft Turner.. and can get Johnson for Love/Jefferson you do it. I think the Wolves date is the 2012 where they will be finally have there team (core pieces at least) in place. So signing Milicic, draft Turner, trade Jefferson/Love for Johnson. And then one more year of a top ten draft pick and next years draft is pretty PF heavy so it should turn out perfectly with a main rotation by 2012 of..

Rubio/Sessions (do something with Flynn, or trade Sessions and see if Flynn & Rubio can co-exist by sharing minutes)

Turner/Brewer
Johnson/Brewer

Love or Jefferson/2011 top ten draft pick(Mason Plumlee? looked decent when checking out the 2011 draft)
Milicic

As the team grows in experience, chemistry, talent since their so young. This is a team that can build into contenders overtime.

What do you guys think?

I would trade Love + x for Turner but would hesitate to trade Love straight up for Aminu or Johnson because I'm not really convinced that they are what we need.

Then I'd rather keep Love another season and use him to acquire a wing in next years draft.

Aminu seems like Hakeem Warick type tweener/hybrid. Not big enough to start at the PF, not skilled enough to be a dynamic threat at the 3 at both ends. Good player but not sure he's a good fit on our team without a really really good scoring wing to go with him and Al being such an anchor in the post.

With that being said: an Aminu Cardinal Love frontcourt off the bench would be a nightmare to match up with.

We'are a team that is suppose to play uptempo ... does any combination of Milicic, Jefferson, and Love really fit the plan?

I do think Love and Milicic's passing abilities fit well for a running team :D

It depends on what our pick is. If we're at 3 or 4, I think we have to trade Jefferson or Love. Either Cousins or Favors is a better fit with Jefferson and Love than they are with each other.

Very risky move trading one of the team's top two established players for a pick.

Here are the #5 picks from the past few years:
09 - Ricky Rubio
08 - Kevin Love (push)
07 - Jeff Green
06 - Shelden Williams
05 - Raymond Felton
04 - Devin Harris
03 - Dwayne Wade
02 - Nickoloz Tskitishvili
01 - Jason Richardson

If given the choice, I'd rather keep Love than roll the dice with these odds. If we trade him, it should be for a player that is producing in the nba. We've got enough question marks with #2(?), #16(?), #23(?), Rubio and Pekovic without moving a guy that is contributing already.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
