Is Beno's cross over underrated?

Post#1 » by Alyosha12 » Sun Mar 28, 2010 11:10 am

I mean he does it a lot but its not talked about too much, however i think its a thing of beauty.
Here are a few samples:
Devin Harris:

Tony Allen two times in 1 play, and finishes him of with a nice pump fake:

Kobe:

Just a few that come to mind real quick. Also since Evens went down Beno has been averaging 19,8pts 10,6ass 5rbs 2,8stls. 8-)

Not the fastest Crossover but it's very effective and he has a slight hesitation after the initial crossover that allows him to create space before he pulls up for the shot.

His crossover and his spin move when he gets into the lane are both underrated. That one on kobe where he makes him fall is beautiful but i think that was a spin move.

Yeah i agree its not the fastest crossover but its damn efficient, the only problem with Udrih that i see is i sometimes feel he is afraid of contact in the paint, but considering the amount of injuries he has had in his career i don't blame him lol.

It's not a crossover in streetball, and that's why it's not talked about. It's a change of direction. "And1" killed it for fundamental basketball.

I personally hate the wide out cross overs. If a player puts the ball so far to the side before crossing the run the risk of getting the ball picked the upside to it is that when you do it well the other player completely gets taken in by it but the risk of losing the ball is just too great. Beno does a vey short cross over and keeps the ball in the pocket the whole time which allows his lesser speed on the actual cross to be less important. However if he did have more speed on the cross over I don't think that any player could stay in front of him it's just that precise of a movement.
