Parking at the Ford Center

Post#1 » by Air Durant35 » Mon Mar 29, 2010 5:43 pm

So I plan on going to my very first Thunder game on Sunday when the Timberpups are in town and was wondering if there is parking on site at the Arena or will I look elsewhere. Im new to Oklahoma and have never ventured through OKC so I plan on going hella early and exploring Bricktown before getting in line at the Ford for the game.

Also how much is parking? Thanks!!!!!

If you're planning on getting there really early, the parking lot for the Myriad Gardens is across the street from the northwest corner of the Ford Center. That lot is $6, which isn't a bad price at all, especially considering there are lots much further away that are $5 or $10, and it's small lot so it's not going to be nearly as jammed and difficult to exit post-game as some of the parking garages nearby. The Myriad Gardens lot is where you should go for the closest parking. If $6 is a big deal and you want to park for free instead, you can park at Toby Keith's restaurant, but it's a much longer walk.

Here's just a few places to park, if you just drive around west of the Ford you will find plenty of parking.

I tried to post this as an image, and it won't display correctly, so here is a link to a marked map of downtown , maybe someone with better internet skills can help me get this to display.

The blue is $5 parking , I like the lot under I-40 , at Harvey and SW 3rd. Its only accessible off SW 3rd, which is one way going east.

The lots marked in red are $10 lots.

And the orange is the Santa Fe garage, accessible from EK Gaylord. I park here in bad weather cause there are indoor walkways from the garage, through a couple of hotels, the Cox Convention Center, and you come out across the street from the Ford Center. Access the walkways from the second floor of the Santa Fe garage, in the SW corner ( just follow the crowd, they will take you all the way through to the Ford )
