I don't think so. Acquiring Bosh assures them being clear cut favorites for a long time.
Building around Bynum is a great idea. He's only 22 and will only get better.
EventHorizon wrote:I believe Bynum is not someone you build around and neither is Bargnani. They are good second bananas, but this team will need a traditional wing to carry us to the promised land.

If we could come away with smart hustle players who can D up, plus Ed Davis or Cole Aldrich, that would be amazing. Bargnani gives us the flexibility of trading for a PF or C, as long as they hustle, help and can move. Getting Jerebko also would be sweet, but that may be too much to ask.
I think Bosh would dig Detroit, who probably are not interested in rebuilding considering their contracts and fanbase. We'd still have Banks' and Evans' expirings, along with Jack's and Weems' attractive deals to trade for a vet two-way SG with one or two years left on his deal.
Too much? Too little?

Durant has been pushing for this year's top free agents to sign in OKC, and who better than Bosh to fill their void at the 4/5 spot. With Bosh on their team, paired up with Durant and Westbrook, they will be perrenial contenders for the next decade.
Toronto Trades:
-Chris Bosh
Toronto receives:
-James Harden
-Serge Ibaka
-OKC's 2010 first round pick
-Nick Collison (filler)
-Kyle Weaver (young filler)
OKC will not part with Durant or Westbrook, and I'm not convinced that Jeff Green is a piece the Raptors need for the future since DeRozan is our future 3. Getting back Harden (who is arguably just as talented as DeRozan) to create a future swingman tandem of Harden-DeRozan, along with a very talented big man in Serge Ibaka (who has shown some really good flashes already), looks like a good return on an outgoing free agent. The Raps can continue to receive more pieces in the draft for the following two years, and then use the expirings to put together a trade on another team just as OKC is doing to us.

The only starting position OKC has a need at is the 5, so that should be their focus.
Sam Presti can just sign Chris Bosh to a max contract if he wants him bad enough, but I would think Chris prefers a S&T so he can max out his earnings, and Mr. Presti won't trade all those pieces for Chris. I doubt Chris Bosh would want to play and live part-time in OKC.
To Chicago for Taj Gibson, rights to Omer Asik, James Johnson, Charlotte's future 1st, TPE.
Gives us some more athleticism and defense, and a couple of future interests. We can let the TPE burn for all I care, but it might be a feather to hang onto at the deadline with our expirings.
