Wiz to sign Cedrick Jackson

Post#1 » by closg00 » Wed Mar 31, 2010 1:12 pm

According to a league source, the Wizards intend on signing Cedric Jackson of the Developmental League's Erie BayHawks, which would make it 26 different players in a Wizards uniform this season.

He was a good player on that exciting Cleveland State team from a couple years back that looked like they'd make some noise in the NCAA tournament. He's a real ball-hawk on defense. Good move, imo. He might be one of those PG/tweener guard types who just needed more time to develop.

Just looking at his D-League stats I see erratic scoring but a whole lot of activity--Jackson appears to be a bust-his-tail kind of player.

Lots of rebounds. Lots of FT attempts. Good assists, steals to turnover ratio. Dude fouls a lot, too.

doclinkin, per metaphysicals Jackson being a Pisces would bode well for him with Flip. :)

I'll reserve judgement, other than to say Curtis Stinson's probably way better.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Nice trend in his last 7 games - averaging 22.6 points, 8 rebounds, 6.9 assists/3.6 to's, and 2.4 steals. And his shooting percentage - which was always low - was 53.4%. It's like he played against the Wiz the last 7 games.

Please, no more Quentin Ross.
