Let's Say...
Lets say Bosh picks us as the team he wants to go to and tells the Raps they can work on a S&T or he will walk. I am assuming we will trade Jamison but I dont see Toronto really wanting him. So I thought about a couple three-ways but I think for me one stood out more than the others...
Cle trades:
Antawn Jamison
JJ Hickson
Danny Green
Rights to Christian Eyenga
for
Chris Bosh
Tor Trades:
Chris Bosh
for
Tyson Chandler
JJ Hickson
Rights to Christian Eyenga
Cha Bobcats trade:
Tyson Chandler
for
Antawn Jamison
Danny Green
Why:
Cavs do this to obviously get Bosh and give up a bit of assets, if picks are necessary they wont have a problem dishing a late 1st out.
Toronto gets this to get some assets for Bosh. They get an expiring defensive center that has been playing way better at the end of the season so he looks to finally be healthy. Chandler allows Bargs to move to PF and JJ gives them the more conventional post PF who is young enough to grow with Derozen. And again Eyenga was a guy that BC looked at and by both parties believe he would have eventually been in the lottery in an upcoming draft.
Cats do this for a couple reasons. It gives them a post scorer to add to their already big two making them a tough 3 scorers to deal with... SJax, GWallace, and AJamison would be a tough matchup for anybody. They have a long lineup of centers(Nazr moves into starting lineup, Theo Ratliff has found a home with former coach, and Ajinca should be ready for a bigger role) and were tired of Tysons inconsistency. They get Danny Green who adds youth at the wing since all they had was Gerald Henderson. Green is now part of the youth with Agustine,Henderson, Derrick Brown, and Ajinca. And I think the tipping factor is that both guys are North Carolina guys so you know MJ knows both guys games a bit. They take on salary but Jamison may be that piece that puts them in the upper echelon of the East because they are already a force.

That would be a great deal. I know Cavs fans may be high on Hickson, but Bosh is a superstar. Him and LeBron on the same team would be fantastic for the next 10 years.

Haha yeah we're high on Hickson but we'd happily ship Hickson out if it meant getting Bosh in return.and1GS wrote:That would be a great deal. I know Cavs fans may be high on Hickson, but Bosh is a superstar. Him and LeBron on the same team would be fantastic for the next 10 years.
Not gonna happen, though

Bosh is overrated. He's barely able to get his team to the playoffs. Granted, he doesn't have a great supporting cast- but its not a bad one either. I wouldn't give all that for Bosh. I'd do Jamison and Danny Green

Re: Let's Say...
I don't think Bosh is terribly overrated, he's just a player that needs to be next to a star to maximize his impact. IMO he's much like Garnett in that regard. My biggest question has always been whether Bosh was a big ticket player or a max player. I just don't think he should be a max player (although I know someone will give him max money)

So instead of JJ Hickson are we willing to give up Powe and/or a future 1st?

So generous......

Raptors would not do another East team this sort of favor with so little payback. That would be idiotic.
Why on earth do they want an EXPIRING...aged.....exp;ensive Jamison? For his DEFENSE?

The Raps would let Bosh just WALK...take the cap space, rather than do this. Offer them Varajo,Hickson, pick and at least you can START a conversation.
CENSORED... No comment.

Oh jolly, Jamison and Green? What an amazing package. A 33 year old PF who doesn't play D added to a team that doesn't play D, seems like a good fit for a rebuilding team.
And Danny Green...a legit prospect!?!?
Where do the Raps sign!?!?!?!

Re: Let's Say...
Any team taking Jamison would have to be in win now mode. There aren't a lot of great fits (other than us, lol).
Jamison is a productive player next year then a big expiring. There is some value there even given his age.
As for adding Bosh, obviously you have to do it if you could (not that this scenario seems at all likely). Still I think there would be diminished returns bringing him in with LeBron. LeBron dominates the ball too much for a second max guy to flourish. Complimentary players are the better way to go.

Relentless... Tyson Chandler, JJ Hickson, and the rights to Eyenga actually go to the Raps which I think is pretty good for a player you could possibly lose for nothing.
Tidho... I think Charlotte may be in win now mode with SJAX over 30 and Larry Brown possibly on his way out every season. Hopefully all teams can agree on something.
Why does everyone keep assuming Jamison is going to Toronto? Plus what do we do with Hickson with Bosh coming to the Cavs? If we can keep him and turn him into something else then great but I dont know if keeping him with Bosh coming in would be good because Bosh doesnt want to play center and JJ is too small to play center.

I think Raps fans seriously overestimate what they'll get for Bosh, if anything, but suggesting they PAY almost $15M to lose Bosh and get a player who hasn't stepped on an NBA court, an overpaid useless piece of garbage, and a solid (but not All-Star) prospect is ludicrous.
Bosh is not coming to Cleveland. Not in a three-way deal, not in a two-way deal, not in any deal.

Bingo. We are not paying Tyson Chandler what Bosh will nearly make his first year in hes new deal. Chandler isn't what he was a few years ago and is one of the most overpaid players in the league. His only value is that he's expiring, and it makes no sense to basically trade in cap relief for an expiring. JJ Hickson to the Raps is nothing special. He is a solid player, and that's what we think he is. To be honest he's pretty much on the same level as Amir Johnson. Eyenga? We are not trading for someone's "rights" especially for an average prospect at best.
And I agree most Raps fans overestimate the value of a S&T. But most fans also underestimate the value of a trade exception. If Bosh wants his max deal, and we deal him to Miami for a TE and a pick or picks. We get a massive TE which is VERY valuable. Teams at the deadline who aren't winning are going to move contracts if they aren't good fits and Raptors will be there with the TE.
The Cavs just don't have assets we'd want. Hickson is the only prospect/young player that may be enticing, but Raps are not interested. Picks will also be 30th for the next 5 years at least, so there's no value in that.
