I voted just average-good, soley because of our inconsistency. A good team wouldn't drop the easy games like we do.

Some days we look excellent, others we look below average.

Good - Excellent

I would have voted for Excellent if only we've beaten the teams we're supposed to beat.

Good.

They're an above .500 team yet to prove themselves as a unit in the postseason. Stringing together some impressive regular season wins doesn't merit a tag of 'Excellent' just yet, particularly given how horrible they've been with lesser opponents.

I went with good excellent. We can beat the elite teams, which means the potential is there. It's a young team though, so they play down to the bad ones as well. The defense aggressiveness makes us good-excellent. I almost went with good though. So if you had a good-good-excellent I'd pick that instead.

Voted Excellent, I think if we had this team in the start of the season we would be top 4 in the East, and we have yet to see how good this team is with our starting center in the mix

Our defense is one of the best and our offense is..... well, it's a lot better with Jax ( and Nazr, get better big man!) than without. We should be a lot closer to 10 games over .500 than we are. Our inconsistency screams mediorce, but I still think we're a damn good team. So.......... I'm going with Rich's good/good excellent.

Is that cheating?

I voted Good. They are definitely not elite and presently lack the raw talent to ever be elite.

The following was my assessment I posted immediatly after the Jackson acquisition and I remain steadfast in my outlook:

"If we were at a position to win the east and acquiring an aging veteran like Jax could have put us over the top, I’d have been gung ho. But, we’re not that team. Jackson has made us much better but the shortcut moves management has made have plateaued us into a first round caliber playoff team with no prospects of advancing any further for the next few years.

It’s the opportunity cost the short-cut route represents. For better or worse, Diaw, Jackson, Wallace and Diop represent our core for the next 3 years. Because of the money devoted to these players we have no capacity to make any significant FA acquisitions or, more importantly facilitate trades.

Also, by electing to be salary heavy and mediocre (in lieu of being salary light and bad), we miss out on the opportunities to draft the franchise type players like the Derek Roses, Tyreke Evans and Evan Turners.

As they make their playoff push this year, I’ll be pulling for them. But I recognize in the back of my head that in doing so, I’m living for the moment since, because of the shortcut moves they’ve made to taste some immediate success, they’ll be back in the lottery starting from scratch 3-4 years from now."

I voted Good. I think we are a team which competes for a Playoff spot and has a chance to advance a round if we are playing well. But I cannot vote us higher yet. We still have a habit of playing down to the competition at crucial times. Look at those 2 crazy NJ Nets loses. That sad game the other night at home allowing the Raptors to beat us on our own home court. Those 3 games alone are making a big difference in where we stand in the Playoff race. Good-Excellent teams and better dont play down to their competition. The Cats have to eliminate this fatal flaw in their character in order to rank higher. They do have the ability to do it, but that comes with more time together, more maturity and perhaps a little roster tweaking by the LB and the FO.

This team really reminds me of a slightly less talented version of the 2002 Hornets team with a core of Mashburn/Baron/Wesley/Magliore/Brown.

the only thing we're consistent as is being inconsistent. But if a team catches us at the right time and a confidence high then we're able to compete with the Lakers/Cavs of the world. If we're in an offensive funk and confidence low, then we're struggling to beat the Nets/Wizards/Pacers of the world.
