Re: Worst case scenario....
If we get the Jazz or OKC in the first round i think we're a good shot even without Karl and Kmart.

won't get out of the 1st round with karl but without kmart.
might get out of the 1st round with kmart but without karl.
i've comes to terms with that. its the risk you take when having a high paid frontcourt and a thin bench. but its like that for everyone. portlands going nowhere without oden. lakers won't win a title if one of odom/gasol/bynum went down. celtics wouldn't without perkins. cavs might be able to do it without one of Z/Shaq/Jamison....but they also have an 85 million dollar payroll, vets signing with them for nothing, and lebron james.
just sucks because this could be chaunceys last year as a high impact pg, and its another season with prime-ish melo and without a title.
if both come back...i'm still not sure we have enough to get by the lakers & mavs.
I agree with most of this, although I think your predictions are pretty pessimistic.
I think the general consensus before the season was that we severely lacked front court depth, and if any one of our bigs were to go down for an extended period of time, we would be pretty ****. But if completely healthy, we had a decent shot at making a run at a title. Unfortunately the former ended up being the case, and our chances aren't looking too good right now.
That said, I still think we have enough to at least win a round or two, with the way this team is able to focus and turn up the intensity come playoff time. If matchups fall into our favor and a few guys step up, a lot of good things could happen.
Overall though, I'm not going to be too disappointed. I feel like we still have a great young core to build around, and the possibilities to improve even more will start to increase within the next couple years. For the impatient kids and bandwagon fans, that may not be something to be that excited about...but for me it is.

I dont think we could beat phoenix with out Kmart, I honestly think we dont want to see Phoenix at all in the first round.
Everytime we play them we get caught up in a shootout and there gonna win those.
If we dont make it out the first round, and if we dont at least get a decent big man in the off season, Im really think Melo might jet for New york. I mean bigger market, and on the east coast

I think we have plenty to get by those teams, even the Lakers. The issue is the whole playing the right way and effort and hustle and smart heady play etc. I mean if you want to say our guys don't think or play smart down critical stretches I would agree with that.
Can they do it if they using all of their skills and abilities efficiently.....hell yes. I think Kenyon should just go for it even if it means inflamed knees by end of playoffs. You look at the window for winning and the effort it took to get here.
Last season Nuggs owned Phoenix, had no problem with Dallas. Early this year very solid with LA. Doing great against the Cavs this season. It's not CAN they do it, it is WILL they do it....the possibility is there. Are they instilling confidence in everyone atm.....hell no.
put the ball in the basket like this
