as per Jordan Bastian and MorganPCampbell's twitter posts;
Jays rotation: Marcum, Tallet, Romero, Morrow, Eveland

yes that is right...Tallet #2!....I don't get that at all..I mean Romero hasn't had the best spring but Tallet should NOT be #2.

Re: Jays Starting Pitching rotation finalized
Regardless of where Romero or Tallet is, that rotation is horrendous. 1 post Tommy John surgery and 4 pitchers with WHIPs greater than 1.50. Games are going to be LONG.

Cecil should be in the major league rotation.
But I suspect it won't take long for Eveland and Tallet to get hit.

Tallet is probably in the #2 spot so that they can skip him on the first off day. Or at least the math works, and that is what I want to believe.

Re: Jays Starting Pitching rotation finalized
It just doesnt make sense. With a season supposedly devoted to improving our youth, how does it help Cecil to go the minors instead of in the majors with big league hitters, and more importantly a big league pitching coach.
Secondly, only having 1 lefty in the bullpen is a grave mistake.

Yeah, I'm with everyone else, that's just so awful looking and with something approaching 4 billion pitchers in camp I'm amazed Tallet ends up in the rotation.

The last two spots came down to Tallet, Eveland and Cecil, i'm guessing that Tallet and Eveland could not be reassigned to the minor leagues without going through waivers and Cecil on the other hand had minor league options left. I don't know much about that stuff so maybe someone can clarify. But then you can also say that Tallet could have been moved to the Bullpen but it would be pretty hard to find room for him there with Jesse Carlson coming back really soon.

Re: Jays Starting Pitching rotation finalized
It's gonna be a long season boys. If we want to win games, they're going to have to be high scoring... though our offense should be pretty good if Hill/Lind can continue from last year.
Tallet at number 2...maybe to skip him. If anything, it should be Marcum/Romero/Morrow/Tallet/Eveland to split up the lefties...but I guess either way there are still 3 lefties so no difference.

I think Carlson is an overacheiver anyways. You could easily get rid of Camp or Valdez - they arent exactly the most sought after relievers in the league.

Camp has a 55 GB% and has been good for 2 years now. If the Jays released him, he'd be picked up in no time.

Re: Jays Starting Pitching rotation finalized
I think things will work themselves out pretty quick. Morrow isn't too far away and Cecil will be brought in fairly soon as well. Zep also comes back in month or so. McGowan and Litsch are also possibilities plus Drabek may make his debut this year as well. The rotation will look considerably different in a couple months time. I would imagine the Eveland's and Tallets will eventually go the way of the dinosaurs in favour of the Cecil's and Zep's.
That being said, the one's that pitch well will stay and the one's who dont will go to Vegas or the Waiver wire.
The bullpen looks pretty solid in terms of talent but the lack of another lefty is interesting. Again, I think a move is eventually coming with one of Downs, Gregg or Frasor moving on sometime during the year. No way Carlson and Roenicke stay down for long either.
A pretty rough looking unit at first glance, but there could be some surprises in there.
