Mike D`Antoni: "Tmac has no future"

Post#1 » by dunleavyjr » Sun Apr 4, 2010 1:59 am

Knicks coach Mike D'Antoni doesn't feel Tracy McGrady has a future with the team past this season.

McGrady has averaged 8.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 21 games with New York.

A team source said D'Antoni feels that McGrady has too far to go in his comeback to be counted on next season as an important piece of a rotation the coach expects to be massively improved.

This should be OT, he's not our problem anymore. But to clarify, he said no future with the Knicks, not no future entirely. But the way he's played, both might mean the same thing.

D'Antoni has no future. He has really been exposed this year. He isn't that good of a coach.

Rockets fans,

Don't you folks feel that you were deceived by Tmac earlier this season?
He said he was in "perfect health" and he kept whining about Rick Adelman
sitting him on bench. He even questioned about management.

Adelman was right all along about Tmac far from capable of playing the game.

Got this quote from Rockets Forum:

McGrady fans who were bitching at the Rockets not giving him more than 10 minutes, please make a note:

One of the worst and embarrassing teams in the league does not think that McGrady can contribute.

Dont be a douche-bag. Please thank Adelman and Morey for letting him play for 10 undeserved minutes.

Thanks.

I think neither has a future with the Knicks. McGrady has been reluctant to extend his minutes even when D' Antoni wanted to play him. McGrady also said he want to be a role model to his young teammates, but he can't even push himself.

D' Antoni isn't a good coach either. I think he's too emotional.

If not both, at least one of them will go. In other words, T-Mac has no future with D' Antoni.

Thing is.. You can't really blame him. Because you don't know how in shape you are until you get some minutes. He probably regrets everything he said, and he should, but I dont blame him for thinking he was ready.

I refuse to hype dude up until I see consistent performance

YaoZaii.. You seem to put the blame on T-Mac, but it was started by D'Antoni. T-Mac said he would be ready next year or whatever, makes sense.. Then D'Anotnio comes out with 'T-Mac has no future with NY' and he was the one that was going to help try and recruit some of the big players.. The coach fked that up, so now t-mac is gonna attempt to fk it up also.

But it is the Clash of the egos.. But to put the blame solely on tmac isnt right

haha perhaps i did.
well, i felt there was going to be repercussions when he said he was going to be an all-star, a great player again.. to play in Orlando again... His words are starting to lose its credibility. I'm just disappointed with him all over again... it's bad enough that he was the one who rediscovered my interest in basketball when he came to Houston.. with things this bad... he last thing he needs to do is tell the press that he thinks lebron ain't going to NYC. he needs to sit down and reflect and let his basketball do the talking. of cos D'Ant is not helping the situation.

I dont pay attention to what he says anymore.. I learned to wait till I see it, because I hear a lot of stuff from people and I cant even back my argument up anymore.

Tmac's lastest statement is that he would return to the Knicks on condition, the condition that the Knicks land either LeBron or DWade.

He sets a condition. Wow! He thinks he's a hot commodity.

Slightly OT, but which is more comedic?
TMac interviews, Knicks news bulletins, or the Kool Aid man attempting political oratory

Discuss amongst yourselves.

Neither have a future. D-Antoni is not a good coach. And Adelman and Morey were right about McGrady. He is nowhere near where he needs to be to be effective and its unlikely he'll ever get to the point where he can even be a third option on a team.
