We've already had this discussion, I believe. And Craig will be looking into replacements. I know that BWW and I also have our names in the hat.

I will say, though, that weekly lineups would kill the league's activity. So, I'd probably vote against your promotion Wes...sorry.

Nah, don't be sorry. I'm happy to do it, but, if I'm doing it, I'm doing it my way. But, even more happy is just letting someone else do it.

It's only a fantasy league; I play it for fun, and many of you do too....I know we all want to win, but some just seem to want it too much. I'm going to retire from the FFL after this season, and hand back the reins to Craig.

I feel I have performed well in this league, finishing 7th, 5th and probably 4th this year. Thanks for all the memories.

just retiring as commish or all together? I hope you'll only step down from the commish title and continue playing

deleted fran get to you. his kind of forum guys get on with stuff like that.

Everyone pleae stop insulting each other

Retiring from the league altogether. Will stick to FFDL and VBA, everything else, I'm done.

Woah, I think Craig is streaming on me. Not cool. Especially when he allready had a games played advantage.

Alright, before things get more out of hand;

Everyone please stop insulting each other. I know we are not running a really tight ship here but there is a line to be drawn somewhere before this place turns into ESPN message boards.

Fantasy Basketball League forum is significantly different in nature from team forums hence a less "strict" moderation style is definitely more convenient however, after all, this is not a private forum hence it is visible to everyone. As you all know, there are still Terms of Service that all public posts need to abide by. Those insults are a violation of TOS.

Normally insulting another poster warrants an automatic suspension however I'll be a little bit naive this time and regard this as some posters getting carried away due to their competitive spirits. I'm going to let it pass with a warning but the next time anyone insults anyone else, he will be looking at a suspension and possibly a permanent ban. I'm looking at you fraan for throwing multiple insults at different posters and at sabonis and TTGM for responding fraan's insults with their own. If someone insults you, use "report" function instead of insulting back so I'll edit these posts and ask for a suspension for the offender.

Two more things:
1) This has not anything to do with someone "winning" or "losing" in the league. I dont care how your team is doing. But whether you are winning or losing, you can still act like a decent human being and not alienate everyone in the league.
2) Please do not bother to say that this was "trash talking"

Regarding Jordan's retirement, I'll get in touch with Jordan to see whether his decision is final and with Craig about how to move forward.

Please keep it civil from this point on and good luck in the rest of the playoffs.

I'm gonna go Gokce. I just don't have the time anymore to run the league - the whole start-up process is very long and a very unenviable task, one I've tried manfully to conduct over the past two season. I just don't have the time anymore, and the Fran issue confirmed this to me.

Just want to offer my congratulations to Fran for this week. Great team, and this year, sans the past week, he has really proven to have a classy team.

I can only rue CP3 missing so many games, not sending Batum to the IL, taking McDyess at 152, then injuries at the wrong time. Everything else fell into place, and I can only reflect on what could have been.

that was a pretty minor dose of streaming, Wes. I mean, I've held onto Bogans all week despite a couple of gooseeggs. A.Carter's been crap for me; so, I finally dropped him after a full season of mediocrity. I think I picked up Thomas for his game and tried to grab a point guard back in Boykins...

It shocked me nonetheless.

Congrats on the win though. Good luck knocking off Fran.

It all started on April 6, when I opened up this thread asking for 'expressions of interest' for the 2009-10 season.

On July 24 we started and finished on September 11, some 49 days later, after the arduous task of making 260 picks. Not bad, we churned through roughly 5.2 picks per day and we all completed 23 trades, with some involved more than others.

Now we head into the final day of the season with perennial contender Portugese Bastards in the Championship decider with sly, the comeback king. Written off by myself at the start of the season, Craig has ridden the hot form of Kevin Durant and David Lee to be in the position he is today.

In the third-place playoff, I am holding off a LeBron-less Jazzfan team.

Congratulations to Craig, who looks to finally win his own uber-competitive league after 5+ years of playing. You deserve that prize dude.

My team was worse than horrific this year. A year to forget. But, my only bright spot, is that the picks I was rued and ridiculed for were absolute stars down the stretch (too bad I didn't keep half of them):

Ben Udrih: Definitely worth a top 200 pick. He came through in spite of Tyreke's brilliant rookie season. Too bad I dropped him.

Carlos Delfino: For a while there, I thought Illyasova would push him out of the rotation, but he's been worth of a top 120 pick down the stretch...again, too bad I dropped him.

Terrence Williams: Last few games he's averaged nearly a triple double. I picked him up near the 200s. And I actually kept him. Too bad he didn't play at all until the last 3 weeks.

Darko Milicic: Goose egg until the last month. Who would've seen him getting solid minutes and numbers in Minnesota? I didn't...but at least I finished the year with him on my roster.

Again: Congrats Sly. Looking forward to another great year next year!

Can't agree more :wordyo:

In other semi-related news, sly is also beating me in the HKL finals. Not that anyone cares about that league, but still.

Hey guys, before everyone takes a hiatus for the Summer, I've sent an email around with an inquiry about some research I'm doing...check your emails.

A big congrats to Craig for winning FFL!

Amazing that I wrote you off before the season started, but Kevin Durant just took his game to another level, as did David Lee. Then we had a nice stream of guys such as in Rudy Gay, Lamar Odom, Brandon Jennings, as well as a multitude of guys who just contributed.

Standings
1. sly
2. fraanciiscoo
3. Chris Paul
4. Jazzfan1971
5. Hamtasitc
6. Demon Bird Mothballs
7. AlciG Thunder (consolation champion)

Commiserations to Fran for losing, but I wish to thank him for losing graciously. His team was stacked and the gamble to let go of Chris Paul paid off in a big way. He had a very deep team without any real superstars, but had borderline fantasy stars in Tim Duncan, Rajon Rondo and Andre Iguodala leading the way. The fact that Hedo Turkoglu, Eric Gordon and Louis Williams had either subpar and/or injury-riddled seasons also indicates how good Fran was.

Plenty of other teams had solid years:
- Myself: What if CP3 had played the whole year? Been as close to 100% as he could be for the playoffs? I was very deliberate at the start of the season, and I really wasn't far away.
- Blake: Had the makings of a repeat season to the last, then faded towards the end. But given that he's only had one dud in six years, he's a good bet for next season
- Wes: Why do you always spank my team? :D Sad that LeBron sat out in the final week, and that killed your team in the third-place playoff...but another very strong year to finish 34 games above .500
- George: A team that I beat very convincingly early in the season. At that stage, I thought you were gone, but cobbled a group together that put the wins on the board in order to make the top-6. Not bad for the FFL rookie.
- AlciG: Whilst this team never really threatened the championship playoffs after a slow start, it finished strongly in the second-half, and jumped from 10th (regular-season) to 7th (final classification). Remember a certain someone finished 7th in his first season and proceeded to make the top-6 in the next two years. ;)

Guys, it's been fun...but I am getting older and now don't have as much time to run the league. If I had the time, I would put in the effort. But time is of the essence these days, and I've got to prioritize. The Fran debacle finished it for me. And so it's very sad that I am making the decision to leave FFL as both a manager and the commissioner.

But don't let me take away the gloss off of Craig's win - I believe it is very fitting that I hand back the keys of the league to its faithful owner and now defending champion! Thanks Craig for all your support over the years...and to everyone.
