Based on talent and potential, Livingston could be worth more than the LLE... but not with his injury history. I don't think he's quite good enough for veteran teams to offer him more, and he's a big enough risk that young up-and-comers are unlikely to throw much at him either.

I like what someone posted in another thread, (Nate?) two years at the LLE, team option on the second year. Fair for him, nearly risk free for us.

this probably wouldn't change the amount we might offer SL but
since we're going to be WAY under the cap, do we even have
MLE/LLE to offer? Or are those numbers only relevant given what
other teams might be able/want to do.

Yeah, those are 'exceptions', as in 'exceptions to the salary cap'. Seeing as that we're under the cap, we can offer whatever we want to anyone up the actual cap level without it actually being an exception.

But yeah, those kinds of terms are indeed still relevant due to other teams having it to offer and also they're fine short hand for the kinds of contracts we're talking about.
