Can't wait to get this started. Got pumped watching the replay of Verlanders no-hitter last night.

What's up with the messed up rotation? Willis third? Scherzer over Porcello? ehhh

Willis is in the middle to have a lefty breaking up the right handed parade. makes sense. Porcello should be second, i dont get that

but yay for baseball back!

Maybe Leyland wanted Porcello to have the home opener? it's the only thing I can think of at this point.

Great game by the Tigers. Verlander had a hard 5th inning, but the bats showed up after Greinke left the game.

Johnny Damon went 2-5 with 2 RBIs and 2 runs.
Austin Jackson got a solid 2 run double and threw out a guy at home plate from center field.

I would have liked to have seen Sizemore get his first hit, but it'll come.

The team looked strong. Our bullpen was great.

Verlander threw Butler too many straight fastballs. That at-bat might be the game. Hopefully Zumaya will throw well and give the Tigers a chance.

Johnny Damon sure as hell looks like a good pickup so far.

Yeah, I had to double check that since it struck me as odd, but ESPN definitely has those probables I listed unless they changed it.

^ it's the right lineup, just doesn't make sense to me.

A couple things I'm looking forward to this season.

1. Porcello continuing to develop and impress.
2. The Rooks- Austin Jackson and Scott Sizemore. Will they be legit MLB players?
3. Alex Avila. Will he gain playing time and be ready to be the full time catcher next season?

This season is really about handing the team over IMO. These four young men, along with Miguel Cabrera, Max Scherzer, Ryan Perry and maybe Daniel Schlereth are the foundation of our future. How they play is key.

After the Wings they will go to the game in progress on FSN and than reshow in full at Midnight. It sucks, i know, especially watching the boxscore and seeing Scherzer doing work and Austin just tripling.

Good thing I turned it off after the 9th inning. Once Miggy homered I had a bad feeling and went to bed.

I Tivo'd the replay at midnight, I'll watch it later to see Scherzer work.

Austin Jackson continues to impress.

Nice win

Cabrera is going to be a monster this year. seriously. dude is awesome

Jackson was really good again. His hitting continues to impress

Willis was pretty good actually. Got himself in trouble in some innings but he kept getting those DPs. Nice to see from him

Valverde bounced back too.

Good series, good start to the season. Im liking this team more and more

Willis started off shakey, but I expected some jitters after all he's been through as a Tiger. Good to see him settle in and trust the defense behind him. I hope he can grow off this performance and just get some good outtings. The wins will come in time. The most important thing is for him to pitch well and eat innings.

Austin Jackson has been great so far. I'm not proclaiming him ROY or anything, but I had mediocre expectations and he has exceeded those already. He has good plate discipline, he's got good instincts out in center, and there's pop in his bat. I don't expect him to bat .333 the rest of the year, but I think he can be a leadoff threat. I'm excited.

Cabby Cabby Cabby. If this is what he'll do sober this year, I'LL TAKE IT!!!

Good to see Magglio start the season with some hits. I really think most of last years awful start was due to his wifes health problems. Hopefully shes healthy and he can focus on baseball.

This was a good opening series for us. Verlander/Scherzer/Willis got good starts (Max had a great start), our bullpen did their job and we have seen some early success for our 1-6 hitters. Laird, Everrett, Raburn have all sucked so far. Even defensively. Laird hasn't thrown out a runner because he can't get the ball out of his glove, Everrett is diving for balls and missing, Raburn has no play to throw out the runner at 1st and almost threw a ball into the Royals dugout getting the runner over to second.

Yeah, there is a gaping hole towards the end of our lineup, at least so far. I watched the game on tape and found myself wanting to just fast forward through that string of at bats.

Damon has also made some lousy plate decisions early, but hopefully he'll settle in.

Magglio looks GREAT. Obviously its way to early to proclaim that he's back, but I'm more than a little excited to see him performing this well. Cabrera, well, not much needs to be said. The guy doesn't even need to get all of the ball to hit it out.
