4-5 years before the Jays are competitive again?

Just read this interview AA gave. Very good interview and you should check it out. I found it interesting that he has a contract that expires this year. JP Riccardi was on the Fan as well and it looks like this rebuilding plan is going to be 4 to 5 years. They are going to pick high school guys with a high ceiling and it will take time for them to pan out. Vernon, Rios and everyone else took a few years to work out.

Let's say we take a bunch of high school players in the draft because we ultimately believe that those will be the best players. We have to be patient enough. It might take four years, six years, seven years. It varies. You look at how long it took a McGowan to get here, or even a Rios. Even Vernon may have been four or five years, but everything that we do we're trying to get the best players. I can't look at it like I only have so much time left on the clock.

BC getting props!

You know who I think does a great job. I think Brian Colangelo does a great job. I'm a Raptor fan and to me I don't see him on TV all the time. I don't see him quoted all the time. I see him on TV when he needs to be. I see him quoted when he needs to be. I'm probably similar in style.

We are going to see incremental increases in wins, but Ill admit that I didnt think it would take that long. As long as it works out in the future, Im all for future gratification because the Jays of the past few years didnt do anything anyways. Also, how committed is Rogers going to be with half empty stadiums and bad ratings. It might be palatable for 2 years, but would they put pressure on AA to start using some quick fixes? Your thoughts?

Raptor fan?

I have a new love for AA.

That's a pretty good interview, at least we're on the right track.

Let's hope he's not similar to Colangelo in any other way.
