Trade for Rudy Fernandes

Post#1 » by KOBE_PAUER » Thu Apr 8, 2010 12:28 am

He's an amazing shooter, athletic, he rarely fails wide open threes, he would be perfect as back up for Kobe. He's young but he has experience in top competition. Good one?

Great idea, no idea what his salary is...you are forgetting another bonus besides a much needed outside shooter, the main reason to get him, he and Pau would reunite...Espania!, taking Alexa's place.

and why would Portland trade him to us? For what?

2nd rounder and Vujacik's wet panties?

Nobody is going to trade us crap in the off season, we just have no assets outside our core. We missed our chances with Morrison and Farmar expiring. There is a tiny chance we could move Farmar via SnT, but I seriously doubt that.

If Shannon has a good playoff, then he could net a SnT as well, but I don't expect it either.

Fernandez wants to leave Portland, I watched him playing a lot of times and he's a real talent, I saw some all star talent in that skinny guy. Some unreal plays. And he's young, that would be perfect because our Mamba is getting old. Send some scrubs or first rounders, this guy is the real deal.

I like him too, but we don't have a first rounder. And even if a guy wants out, you don't give away a 1.5 mil player to a division rival...

Nice idea, but has zero chance of happening.

This topic belongs in the official trade ideas. Also in case you didn't notice, the trade dead line is over.

We need to wait until he's a free agent and sign him with the mid-level. He'll still be young and there will be more playing time for him with Artest and Kobe declining.

I love Rudy's game, but Portland ain't trading him to us of all teams. Also KOBE_PAUER, it's a little too late to talk trades.......most talk this time of year is playoff based.

You're kidding, right? Sorry Laker fans I am not here trying to troll or anything, but I have to inform him that Rudy is not as great as he is making him out to be. I remember watching the Olympics game and Rudy shooting the ball like it was nothing. He was a tremendous shooter. Now, he is a garbage shooter. On the contrary of rarely missing 3's, he actually misses just about everything. He can make some dumb turnovers. Man to man defense is atrocious (although he is a great help defender), and he is allergic to any contact, which means he hardly takes it to the rim (it doesn't help that he sucks at handling the ball). Maybe he just hates Portland, although, it is pretty clear he is not the player he was made out to be, maybe his shot will come back if he is moved, but the rest of what I said about Rudy is true and won't change at all.

Who says he wants out of Portland? And if he's the real deal why would Portland help us out by taking our scrubs and a late first round pick for a "real deal" player?

Won't happen. We have nothing to offer Portland in the off season. This has to be the most random trade thread just before the playoffs.
