Maybe A dumb idea but still posting this

Post#1 » by dcaff1893 » Thu Apr 8, 2010 1:25 am

Say we trade our first round pack to the clips for blake griffin and if they dont bite throw in nocioni or thompson or hell even both. blake griffin will greatly revive this team and a team with evans and griffin on it has incredible potential. if you guys dont like this idea, give me another scenario where we trade our pick,

It doesn't really matter if we like it. There's no way in hell the Clips agree to it--certainly not throwing in Noc. He has negative value.

but then again, the clips would have 2 first round picks, very high up, and i can see them pulling the trigger, say we got first pick which right now seems very possible, there line up would look like
Wall
Gordon
Outlaw
Patterson
Jordan

thats signifigantly better than
davis (if hes still there)
gordon
outlaw
griffin
jordan
plus whatever they get at the tenth pick which most likely would be a back up

or say we traded thompson for a top 14 pick, you think any team would pull the trigger on that?

There's just no way they pull the trigger. They likely see Griffin as many do--as a franchise cornerstone.

Sure, possibly--depending on the location, and that given team. Then the question becomes, depending on the pick, whether or not we'd do it.

Clippers will not even entertain an offer for Blake without hearing the words Tyreke Evans on the other end.

^^What if they hear the Name John Wall. I wouldn't be opposed to a trade for griffin if the kings were to land wall. I would want a little something more simply because of the Injury griffin sustained but I would probably pull the trigger on it.

Am I the only one that thinks they would be crazy to trade Griffin for Wall. I mean unless we're saying Wall is a Jordan-esque player I don't see how the Clippers trade a big guy with the potential of Blake.

No, Keep the pick and hopefully land Evan Turner and your G's spot is locked in for the next decade.

Am I the only one actually worried about Griffin's health? I mean. The Clips hang up and laugh, but. Still. Griffin's knee.

Trading a high draft pick for a guy that has an injury question that has yet to play a minute of the NBA regular season is a very bad idea.

I don't know if I'd say he's cursed, but I wouldn't be gung ho to try to trade for him

He was cursed the day the Clippers won the lottery. His career is over.

I am with LS and B2B.

I am one of the FEW who was really glad that we DID NOT land Griffin last year and I still do not think that he is worth this year's top pick. I also believe that Favors and possibly Cousins as well are potentially as good of players, but both are BIGGER than Griffin and therefore have greater value. Favors also has court awareness/passing abilities that Griffin is NOT known for. I would just as soon take the chance on seeing what pick we land and if we get lucky a la Portland/Chicago/Orlando, etc. and move from 6/7 up to 1/2/3. Also, if we DO luck out and get the #1, I would look to trade Wall to move down and grab Favors at #2 or #3 (or Turner depending on what your flavor is, but you can't teach size...), and get a 2011 and 2013 #1 added in - sort of like the Webber trades years ago.
