Terrence Williams: Starter in 2010-2011?
T-Will has improved a ton after the AS break. He's more patient on offense, a willing passer, rebounder, takes it to the whole more often. He had a huge game the other night in a blowout win vs the Hornets, 14 assists from your small forward. Still inconsistent with his shot, but he has hit some threes and is shooting 40% from downtown since the break.
Has he done enough to have earned a starting spot next season?

It all depends who we sign/draft, in the offseason, as well as the new coach. T.Will is better suited to start due to his versatility for a 3.
As of now though, besides Kris Humphries, our bench looks pretty weak.

He has at least earned a shot to win it. The bench thing will not look so bleak after we add some talent this offseason so I'm not worried about that. Draft Wall, S&T Harris for Gay, sign D. Lee, buyout Dooling and resign cheaper.
Wall
Gay
T.WIll
D.Lee
Lopez
Bench: Dooling, C.Lee, CDR, Yi, Dallas 1st., 2nd Rounder.
I could live with that next year. I think that team will defend, run the floor well, play unselfish, and be a solid playoff team. The one thing other then Gay who can shoot they will struggle from 3.

The only thing T-Will needs to worry about/work on is his J. Once he gets it respectable i.e above 40%. The sky is the limit!! He has that basketball knack. Remember that 3/4 quarter court heave against Miami? Plus the steals, dishes and OMG the freakin dunks?
I BELIEVE!!!

Believe it or not but this kid has AS type talent.
He really does do just about anything on O and is great on D.
The only hurdle in his way from reaching his potential (and its a BIG hurdle) is his J, if by some miracle he gets a J he could very well be our best player next year.

And play what position?
He's a good passer but I wouldn't call him a PG just yet.
He can't shoot so he shouldn't start at the 2... well, maybe he can I mean, Courtney Lee can't shoot either and he has started at the 2 all season long.
And he's too short to defend the average SF.

Whats up with the obsession with most sports fans of putting players out of position due to their height?
Gay would not work as a 2, and with the fact that T.Will is a bit undersized to be a 3, it wouldn´t make any sense.

Sign Gay and draft Favors.
Devin Harris
Terrence Williams
Rudy Gay
Derrick Favors
Brook Lopez
Favors > Yi on defense, rebounding, shotblocking and eventually inside scoring.
T-Will needs to work on one thing and one thing only this offseason, his jumper. I expect him to improve on that which means he could become a very good starting two in the league with his skill level.

Re: Terrence Williams: Starter in 2010-2011?
I think T-Will is better when he's running the team's offense, rather than being off the ball. His skill set as a defender, rebounder, slasher and scorer are are all good, but it's his court vision that makes him special, and opens up so many opportunities for this former qualities.
Bottom line, I'd say it's unlikely he starts next year. We already have Devin to run the offense, and we will probably either draft a ball-dominant backcourt starter (Wall/Turner) or sign one in FA (LeTravalier/Johnson), if not both. Terrence would probably need to be the 6th man in any of those scenarios, because they can't all have the ball at the same time. I think it would make us ridiculously hard to scout with 3-4 legit stars in the starting lineup, and Williams commanding the bench. Aw man, I'm getting exciting for next season already!

With his versatility and ability to play the point in a pinch, he seems like a better fit as a 6th man rather than a starter.
I'd be more open to Williams as a starter if NJ gets Wall so this way you're not asking him to be the sole ball handler.

Re: Terrence Williams: Starter in 2010-2011?
He could be trade bait if the Nets pursue Amare I'd think in a sign and trade. The main argument for the Nets to beat out Chicago or Miami for Amare would obviously be money they could offer in a sign and trade scenario.
Similiar to what was suggested around the trade deadline except then it looked like there was no value in that trade for Phoenix since Yi looks incredible soft and average and Williams like a possible bust with attitude issues.
His recent improvements put another perspective on it from the Suns point of view where they would actually at least get a pretty good young player in return.

My thing is that if Amar'e wants so much money that the Nets would have to S&T for him... That's just too much money for him and the Nets would be better looking at a David Lee...

My line of thinking is that we draft a pf, and if we have to overpay for someone, we use the cap space to gather extra assets, instead.

This.
I don't love the idea of giving him the MAX (roughly $90 mil for 5 right?) he can get without requiring a sign and trade. There's no chance in hell I give him the extra year and $30 million from a s&t and give up assets in the process.

I'm done with D.lee and Gay i don't want them on this team anymore for the price its going to cost us.If the Nets have a good draft and hire the right coach they can do what OKC did this year.I just don't want to spend just to spend you no what i mean. And i want T.will to start @ the 3 next season.

Mister Teeeeeeeeeeeeee
With another stellar game, shame his teammates couldn't buy a basket otherwise he'd be celebrating his second triple double.
This guy does not belong on the bench, posting 23/10/6 as if it's nothing. There are bigs who can't get to 20/10, this guy has done it multiple times.
