Not quite sure what he may get, but I'm hoping that he joins the trend of players signing extensions before the season is over. I want the Ice Cream Man to stay in Houston for a few more years.

Manu just got 13 mill per season.

Scola will probably want atleast 9 million per year. I don't know if i'm willing to pay him that much.

I dont know how much he'll want but Morey didn't seem to be too worried about that this morning. He said "teams will make offers, we'd match it and move on". Morey has the whole offseason researched and figuared out already.

Yeah they might be asking for too much and rockets would be forced to overpay the players

I'd gladly pay Scola 13mil per.

16.2ppg 8.7 rpg

Guy works harder than anyone on the team and has already dedicated himself to work hard over the summer with Jordan Hill.

That is too much.

As much as he appreciated Rockets general manager Daryl Morey's declaration that the team would sign Scola this off-season or match any offer he gets, Scola knew general managers often say such things to scare off offers to restricted free agents.

Morey, however, sought to end any lingering doubt.

“He will be back,” Morey said. And in case that were not clear enough, Morey added the weight of owner Leslie Alexander's marching orders to his prediction.

“Leslie gave us the resources and said whatever it takes,” Morey said. “He's back.”

“He's core to our plans,” Morey said. “The guy, you always know you get great effort, great play. No chance he's not back in Houston. I think the feeling is mutual.”

Seems unMorey-like to show his cards, but very reassuring to hear as a fan

I really don't think 13 million for Scola is too much.

Guy will likely develop into an all-star caliber player sooner than later. If he isn't already playing on that level.

He'll be 30 next year, but I think he can play at a high level for at least 3 more years

Morey won't offer him anything. They will invent some fake injury like they did with Landry, pussy foot around, until he signs with another team, then just match.

This. And its the smart thing to do in this financial climate too.

It'll be another offseason drawn out battle between Morey and players. Ask Landry and Dorsey what it felt like to negotiate with Morey.

if scola is off the bench and the starting 4 is a defensive big w/ size, then scola should get no more than 10mil. since he cant play defense and has terrible boxing out issues, he should get nothing more than mle money . i dont care if we sign someone else, as long as its someone who can help yao on defense and rebounding .

13 million a year? lol Are you nuts? seriously. The cap is probably lowering. And even at the current market players over 30 who's teams didnt make the playoffs won't get over $10 mill a year. That's like josh smith money, and possibly al horford, who is younger and can actually play defense.

D lee however, might make over $10 million a year. Because at least he's younger, and hes very overrated to the point he went to the all star game.

13 million is absolutely crazy. I wouldn't even pay David Lee, who is having a monster season, 13 per.

I don't know if you're being sarcastic. But even alot of knicks fans , who actually watch their games, don't think hes worth over $10 million a year. That says something instead of listening to peeps who think hes god because of his over inflated statistics.

Not even Yao Ming got a $13m contract immediately following his contract extension.
Let's stick to what we can offer by starting with the MLE.

David lee is very ordinary against contending teams with bigger athletic 4's or 5's. When the clippers come, he'll get his triple double. Whoopee! allstar!
