Who you guys want in the 2nd round? Boston or Atlanta?

Post#1 » by LBJ » Sat Apr 10, 2010 3:43 am

Keep in mind Boston has the tie-breaker against ATL since they are division leaders and after tonight (with 3 games left for both teams) ATL is up one game. Boston has 2 games left against Milwaukee.

I heard commentator say tonight that Cavs should want Boston but I definitely think ATL would be the easier match-up (don't see it taking more than 5 games). I know a lot of you said BOS would be a tough 5-game out but I could see it going 6 or 7. Possibly. If Boston shows up. I know that's a Big If especially with guys like Rasheed and KG suffering major declines this year. Beating Boston on the way to the ECFs would be plenty sweet however and would really prepare them for the rest of the play-offs against ORlando and possibly the Lakers.

However, if they play ATL, it might mean Boston and Orlando pounding each other in the semis and they would get to play a team that escaped a 6 or 7 games series. Does anyone think BOS is tanking to play the Cavs in the 2nd round? Maybe they think they have a better chance against the Cavs cause they are 2-2 against us and 1-3 against Orlando and 0-4 against the Hawks.

Come on now. The Cavs would even embaress a combination of the Raptors and the Bulls right now, let alone when the Cavs face either team "alone".

Jordan never fully understood basketball. He had the lowest basketball IQ of any NBA "superstar" in history.

Assuming Boston gets to the second round (not a sure thing by far the way Boston and Miami are playing) they would be the easier team to play against. They are just not dangerous anymore, at all.

yup and it's just that type of overlooking opponents that causes teams and fans to be embarrassed about losses

Like you said the first Mr. Mod, the Cavaliers have to make thru the first round first. even with bosh out for 6 weeks. The raptors are still a dangerous team.

I want whichever one Orlando wants. i.e. give Orlando the one that would be their toughest matchup, which I think would be Boston.

When the playoffs starts, do we play on the 17th or the 18th?

Hmm I'd rather draw ATL. Their offense is basically Crawford and Joe Johnson taking turns going 1 on 1. That isn't gonna get it done in the playoffs, especially against our defense.

ATL. Boston is a tougher match-up for Orlando.

We can beat either team, but Atlanta seems like the better choice.

We have beaten atlanta like 8 games in a row or something. Our record against boston isnt nearly as good despite them not being as dangerous as they used to be. Also the hawks suck against the magic and the celtics play em competitive.

Give me the hawks every time.

It doesn't matter, the Cavs and Magic are the 2 best teams in the league according to Hollinger on ESPN.

Boston is thru and ATL, like someone said has a VERY limited offense.

Can't wait to see you guys in the ECF, it will be fun (assuming my team doesn't totally let everyone down which they have been known to do)
