To my eyes, he's locked in mentally, more physical and gaining confidence attacking the basket. There's times when he makes some bad reads with his rotations and gets way out of position on defending a shot that wasn't a huge threat, but I think he's learning. His other big problem is that guys who put the ball on the floor just draw fouls on him constantly.

I'm not prepared to put a limit on what I think his ceiling is. Sixth man is possible from an asthma standpoint if nothing else, but as Chenier was saying about a week ago, if Javale puts in the work on his touch on those hooks and finger rolls, he could turn into an insane scorer.

At the moment he misses a lot of them, so on a per possession basis it's not winning basketball games for us, but he's just right at the cusp of turning those into money shots as they're already really fluid and smooth.

But hell yeah, I think he's made huge strides.

dandridge called me insane pretty much for saying McGee could average 18ppg.

I stand by what I said

I did too and I stand by it. You'll be correct in a year or 2 but not now. He cannot play
enough minutes without fouling on many nights. Other nights teams like ATL will simply
game plan for him in a successful way, bump him around and not let him get close
to the rim.

All that said, I feel it is extremely important to try to get him at least 20 min
in any game when he's not in foul trouble. He will improve fastest by giving
him a long leash to make mistakes and to gain real game experience. It's
completely obvious he has a HUGE upside and he's still very young.

Glad to see the kid advancing his game but doing a little more than scoring.

I missed the game working late but it looks like they spanked Boston.

And now he lights it up and get FOUR rebounds.

I think JM's in a good niche now: devastating mis-match change-of-pace guy. Add a durable, strength-and-position guy at the 5 spot and we'll be good down low. Javale will be truly scary when thrown against a fatigued opponent. And he will surely evolve as he's still so young and raw. I can see why EG listed him as untouchable...

McGee really does alter the other team's gameplan.

We need our own finishers and some leadership on this team, hopefully we'll have both this summer.
