And man, I just really want Tyreke to get this over with.

Unless, of course, you were like me and complained about how those calls when he was on this team. My position was the same as it is now...when the shooter initiates the contact by jumping into the defender, it should be an offensive foul.

I don't think it should be an offensive foul. I think it should be a no call. Cassell talks about it in 00:30 in the video.

Martin basically does the same thing Cassell was saying. The only difference is that he goes flying in the air after he gives the defender the bump and the defense gets called for the foul. It should be a no call.

I was there tonight. Awesome atmosphere. It took all season, but i finally got my authentic Evans jersey (I'm an avid authentic jersey collector), and it was only 131.00 on fan appreciation night!!!

I was going crazy when he got his 24 points. Sheesh, it was getting a little close there though.

Was a interesting game. At first I didn't want them to win, but after they came out hot I got into it and was bummed they lost all the momentum.

About Kmart tho...was anyone else thinking, "why didn't he put forth this kind of effort for us, after he came back from injury?" I think thats why alot of people lost faith in him. It seemed like he wasn't into it. You could tell he was into the game last night, was pump faking, drawing contact...etc...But hey, obviously the trade was good change of scenery for him.

It's nice to see the Kings fight through some adversity. When the going got tough and it looked like they might win, they banded together, nutted up and grinded out a loss. Good job boys.

He has had games where he didn't look into it as a member of the Rockets also. Just look at the numbers from his two games before the Kings game. It really doesn't have anything to do with off shooting nights either. It basically has to do with him not putting in effort and playing lazy basketball.

Yep, that's part of the package. I love Martin's game, but you can't rely on him in the fourth.

You're making my point in the underlined part. He (Martin and others that use similar tactics) initiate the contact..."gives the defender the bump". That's an offensive foul: using physical contact to create an advantage.

Are you saying that what Cassell does is an offensive foul also? The bump is so slight that it would almost be impossible for the refs to call. The refs blow the whistle too much as it is imo. And bumping in the NBA happens all the time when players post up. There really isn't a difference between the bump Martin and Cassell give the defense when they are driving and the bump Kobe gives when he is posting up.

Regardless, under a strict definition of the rules, even what Cassell was showing could be argued as a charging foul. If the defender has legal position in front of the offensive player and the offensive player makes any contact to gain advantage, that qualifies as a charging foul. What Martin does is far more blatant.
