Finally, Good loss by LA...Unexpected loss by OKC

Post#1 » by KOBE_PAUER » Mon Apr 12, 2010 3:53 am

I dont want(and I think Im not the only one) play against the Spurs in the first round. Portland is hard for us too....We lost today, but OKC lost and they down to 8th seed now. They are tied... 49-31.
Next game is Portland vs OKC, if OKC loses we will play against them in the first round. If they win, we probably play against the Spurs. The schedule is...

OKC @ Portland
Memphis @ OKC

Portland@ Warriors

Timberwolves @ SAS
SAS@ Dallas

True, but If we must to chose, Oklahoma city, youngest team without playoffs experience, is a better match up than Duncan Ginobili and Parker on Fisher, when they are playing great again....Dont be a hypocrite

I think it was a bad loss since we lost control over HCA against the Magic should we meet them in the Finals.

Hopefully the Magic lose one of their last two games.... and yeah, maybe playing the Thunder wouldnt be so bad, but we just have to hope Ron can slow down Durant... Westbrook is gonna run circles around Fisher (whoa, I seriously almost typed Smush)... Gasol should be able to give it to Krstic but Ibaka is a good defender... Sefalosha will probably do a goo job on Kobe....

I think I'd rather have the Spurs... Gasol/Duncan is basically a wash at this point.. Parker is coming off an injury... Kobe should still be able to outmatch Manu.... I like how we matchup with the Spurs

Spurs are playing very well lately. I wouldnt risk it, let Denver or Dallas deal with them.

Best bet is Portland or OKC.

Now, I really don't care whoever we play. It doesn't matter who we play. So what are we looking like now? -- We look really scared and we look like children trying to hide from a scary movie. This is not about who we play. This is about how we perform against any team. So, it doesn't really matter. If we lose in the 1st round, fine. It's because we didn't play with effort. Sorry for being pessimistic, I just don't feel repeating anymore.

I still feel confident in my team, HOWEVER we are looking like hot sh** right now. I think the injuries and lackidasical (sp) nature that we are showing could come back to bite us in the azz.

I think that Portland would definitely be the easiest team for us to face because OKC is really dangerous because Westbrook would kill Fisher and Durant would light up Artest because he is pretty slow some times. San Antonio is playing very well recently and Ginobili has been on fire and Portland we can beat ONLY IF Bynum is back and healthy enough to keep Marcus Camby from getting every offensive rebound like he did yesterday

Can't believe you guys are looking for the "Easiest" opponent.

I'd rather the team go through the best competition. Not be like Cavs of last year, running through 1st two rounds and then getting destroyed the the conference finals.

And I'd want Portland even if Roy was 100% healthy. I dislike their crowd and they hate ours, the games are very tough down there and thus makes it even more fun.

I agree with you 100%. Two years ago when the lakers lost to Boston in the finals, we played really easy teams the first 3 rounds and we had no competition and lost just like what happened to Cleveland last year

I agree with you guys in principle, but I think the OKC are leagues better than the hawks and pistons teams that the cavs faced last year. Also, we have banged up players who need to get healthy, this will help that happen. I agree if we were on a win streak and playing well, I'd prefer the toughest opponents, but in our current situation an easier opponent will help us get back into the groove. From 2nd round and on I will not care who we play, but first round is a good way for this stumbling laker team to get back into it.

I agree with Shobe. You guys sound like a bunch of wusses looking for the easiest opponent. You guys need to learn some old school rules. It doesnt matter who we play line them all up & knock them all down. Have you guys ever heard of in order to be the best you have to beat the best? With that said this topic doesn't surprise me coming from the OP

^^ Ask Cavs fans, if they prefer play the NBA finals against LA or against Denver... 99% will say Denver. Dont be a hypocrite. Not always the best team wins. HCA, injuries, matchups can turn the course of a championship.

Then I would say the same thing to them. When I used to watch my beloved Lakers in the 80's i wanted the Celtics & nobody else. Don't tell me about being hypocritical. That's how I am! Bring on the best! If you don't understand that then that's on you!
