^No to Mays, I think he's all hype, if he gets burned at college imagine the pros. I'd rather draft a 3-4 D-linemen or another pass rusher.

I'd love Dunlap to fall to us...doubt it.

I heard.

I wanted us to get Rackers, and I want us to get Taylor, especially if Douglas isn't re-signed.

Well, we officially agreed to terms with Taylor.

Has Douglas already been signed somewhere? He made some huge plays last year, I thought we would retain him...

Mark Brunell is interested in joining the Jets clan.

Don't think it's likely, but it's good that we have some people who want to play in New Jersey/New York.

Also, who saw Sanchez on Saturday Night Live?

Me too, I think if anything I'd love to have Jared Odrick

We got Holmes

Post#107 » by Manhattan Project » Mon Apr 12, 2010 3:43 am

Traded a fifth rounder for him, great value. Even if he is suspended for four games, we gave up a fifth round pick for what will likely be our slot WR. Good day.

They've done an incredible job building this team. Taylor and Santonio as additions fill key needs without costing us all that much. The draft should be interesting as now depth at certain positions is key.

Has anyone stopped and taken a breath to look at our receiving core?

Santonio Holmes, Braylon Edwards, Jerricho Cotchery, and Dustin Keller at TE...

Any team stacking up more men in the box looking to stop the run against the best run blocking team in the league now have to worry about those four on the outside...

My goodness, that's a helluva steal, still considering the charges against him.

I question his character, but he's a great addition without a doubt.

Marshall was just traded to the Dolphins for 2 2nd-round picks. I know Denver probably wouldn't have let him go for less than a 1st if we didn't nab Holmes for a 5th, but damn...I would've been all over that deal. The only thing stopping me would be that contract extension, which is probably what stopped Tannenbaum.

Oh well...he'll just have to become another victim of REVIS ISLAND. Cromartie could handle Ginn or Bess or whomever.

Two 2nd rounders is outrageous even for his talent. He's not unlike Holmes when you consider off field issues vs on field issues with coach, great talent, and contract situation. I was iffy on a 2nd and a 4th, because the first two rounds give you huge quality and the 4th usually has plenty of talent still around. I'd rather have the Holmes deal for sure.

Drew Coleman signed his 6th round tender, worth somewhere around $1.2M.

Yeah, but I'm not too confident that Leon is back solely because of LT. I see a S&T or him bolting and us getting the pick.

ESPN article "Revis Island awaits new Fin"

http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/ ... id=5087488

Should the Jets be worried about the Dolphins? Let's not forget, the Dolphins beat the Jets twice last season -- but they did so by Nov. 1. The two rivals did not play after that, which was well before the Jets and rookie Mark Sanchez meshed late and formed their true identity, winning seven of eight games to get to the AFC Championship game.

The Jets may still have trouble stopping Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams this season, but no team is better equipped to handle Marshall than the Jets.

Instead of flipping the finger at rowdy Dolphins fans, Ryan can point them and the Dolphins in the direction of Revis Island. Ryan possesses the best lockdown corner in the business, Darrelle Revis, to check the highest-paid wide receiver in NFL history. Marshall -- who agreed to a four-year, $47.5 million extension -- can ask Andre Johnson, Moss, Steve Smith, Terrell Owens, Chad Ochocinco and several other top-flight wide receivers just how good Revis is. Revis shut down all those wideouts last season.

It'll be a great match-up to watch!

Listed at 6'4, 230, the guy's everything you want in a receiver. Poses a matchup problem against most secondaries in the league. Like Holmes, he's still fairly young and caught 100 catches the last three seasons. I'm ecstatic we got Holmes for a fifth, but what I'm saying is that if the asking price was a second this year and next, which it wouldn't have been if Pittsburgh was selling Holmes for cheap, I would've jumped on that to pair him up with Sanchez for the next four years. Trade the 1st pick down for more and just work on depth.

I think as good as Revis and Cromartie are, I'd love us to see us pick up another CB. I've never really liked Coleman, and that was before the Colts game in the playoffs. We could find better CB depth and a nickel and dime back in the draft than Coleman also.

Brilliant news, I hope what you said doesn't happen, I can imagine LT being the redzone threat for us.

Yep.

Washington apparently is signing his tender but I still doubt he gets much PT over LT and Greene.
