Let's start it out with some early thoughts and predictions.

I'll make my series predictions later but off the top I'm thinking we're going to see a rematch of last year's Finals.

Yeah, no way Orlando gets knocked out early. They will at least make it to the ECF again and I'd absolutely love to see them knock the Cavs out again. Out West I think the Lakers are in for a battle in each round. I could see the Mavs, Jazz or even the Suns taking them to seven.

Too hard for me to say who from the West will be in the Finals. If the Lakers flip the switch, it's probably them but I don't know if they'll be able to do that very easily against the competition they will be facing this year. From the East, Cavs or Magic in the Finals although I'd love to see the Hawks get to at least the ECF and make it interesting.

The West playoffs are going to be insane. Every team has at least 50 wins and the difference between the 1 and 8 seed is 7 games.

@Jerrod:So who do you think takes Orlando out?

I think the way the seeds ended up favors the Magic.I don't see Orlando having much trouble with either Charlotte or Atlanta...or Milwaukee if we somehow pull off an upset.

On the other side of things I don't see Boston beating the Cavs in a 7 games series but I could see Boston giving the Cavs 6 tough games and kind of wearing the Cavs down while Orlando is more rested going into the ECF.

If they're playing a regular season game in say January or February I'd probably favor the Cavs over Orlando but in the playoffs and a best of 7 series Orlando becomes a very bad match up for the Cavs.We saw that last season obviously.

I think OK Thunder are gonna give the Lakers a serious run for their money.

i wouldnt be suprised to see OKC come out on top in that one. actually the entire west playoffs is up for grabs. there isnt a clear cut top team imo.

also, i love OKC. my second favorite team. hope they do well

I would be OK with anyone but Cleveland winning it.

I don't see that at all. The only game they won in the regular season was by 2 on a Josh Smith dunk right before the buzzer.

The other three games Orlando averaged 103 points to Atlanta's 81 points with no game closer than 17 points.

I'd love to see the Suns win at all just because I think Nash is a great player and a nice bloke with a good sense of humour(always had a soft spot for the Suns since the Barkley days also). Shame the moment that wrecked my enjoyment of the rest of this season happened against them.

Lakers are always hard to beat if they can stay healthy etc. I am a bit of a Kobe hater(probably more some of his homer fans though really) so would like to see them lose though it is going to take a hell of an effort from anyone in the West really.

Dallas would be another team I'd like to see win for Kidd and Nowitzki. And that will do before I find a reason I would like every WC team to win it all.

Pick: Lakers for their experience and talent of the first 5-6 players(drops off a bit although not too bad after this). Bynum not there again though right?

If someone from the East was to win it I'd probably like the Cavs. LeBron is a great player and he would deserve it, plus it would give Shaq another title and he has always been one of my favourite players. Cavs v Magic will be hard yet again though and could go either way(assuming neither team is victim of an upset before this)

Lakers in 6 over the Cavs.

I will be rooting for the Mavs to win it all because Dirk and Caron are my 2 favorite nonbucks players in the league. Although I really loath Kidd and Marion, so its a win win for me even if they lose.
