I wanted to pick the Suns in 4 before opening this thread but the Portland fans are a little too confident about their team for them to get swept. They are going to have to score ALOT more points than they did last year in the playoffs if they want this series to go longer than 5 games though.

I think that's the worst reasoning I've ever seen. Because playing the grind out Rockets in '09 is totally going to have the same scoring rates as a series against the up-tempo Suns.

I'll pick Suns in 5. If Roy plays, Suns in 6.

But only because I really wanted Portland to play the Lakers in round one. I think they could have shocked the world. Oh well.

Only thing older than the citizens of Phoenix is your roster. Marcus Camby grew up watching Steve Nash play ffs

So were Oden and Durant, and one looks 80 while the other looks like he needs proactive

I think this is going to be a great series. The teams are just so opposite, its going to be great to see which style of play wins out.

I think the Blazers have some really good things going for them. They need to immediatley establish Andre in the post against Nash, who really sucks at trying to guard post-up PG's. It will also be interesting to see how Batum does guarding Nash, who again seems to struggle against longer defenders. But, on the other hand he is such a smart player I can see him finding ways to abuse the younger Batum. In the end, it will all come down to Amare. If the Blazers can limit him to under 25 points a game, they can win the series. They need to also ensure he doesnt get the two or three rim rocking dunks he seems to get every game, as those are momentum swinging adrenaline moments that can really change the motions of a game.

I really don't get your comment. Houston was terrific on defense with Yao, Artest and Battier and Portland went to 6 games while not getting much offense out of anyone not named Roy. Of course Portland can score more points this year against the Suns than they did against the Rockets last year. All of the starters are capable of scoring 30 points on any given night. Camby did it just the other night. Portland has a couple of streaky shooters in Rudy, Webster & Bayless. "IF" they start hitting their shots, then Portland becomes a "very" good team.

Like someone else pointed out... yeah, the Suns are playing good ball right now, but so are the Blazers. The big question is Brandon Roy. IF he plays, how much will he contribute? Last year, he was everything in the playoffs and managed to get 42 points against Artest and Battier in a game. As I'm sure you know, Roy can be a beast. However, a sore hammy has hampered him for the second half of the season and now this. Frankly, I don't know if he helps or hurts the Blazers if he indeed does play. No one may know the answer to that until we see it happen. Without Roy, I still don't see the Blazers getting swept. Beat... probably, but Swept... not a chance. The Blazers are playing good basketball and matchup fairly well with the Suns so anything is possible and I wouldn't bet against em at this point.
