Toronto Raptors 2010 Official Trade Ideas Thread
Well, now that the season is over we can commence speculating on what Colangelo might do to the team this summer.
This is the spot for all your hypothetical Raptors trade ideas. Go nuts!

First thing's first he needs to sit his @$$ down with CB4 and figure out the direction he wants to go in. There is a HUGE FA talent pool out there and we need to attack asap until its too late. We need to move Hedo but to be honest guys it may not be worth it. It might just be worth hanging onto him and giving him a second season to get his #'s up and then move him.

We don't need to attack anything. If Bosh want's to leave, we need to go into rebuild mode. Not go out and sign some FA and continue this mediocrity train.

If Bosh is gone maybe he flips Calderon for Charlie V. I realize Charlie V is by no means the solution to the Raps problems but he is a scoring big man and lets face it, they aren't going to get an expiring or a decent valued player for Jose. Obviously acquring a defensive presence in the frontcourt would be an even bigger priority if they were to do this...
Whether BC's ego would let him trade a pg for Charlie V is another matter.

If agreed to by Bosh (in that he'd stay if it goes down)
Ideally Jose and Expiring (Evans, Banks or Belli) for Baron Davis
but would go as far as
All expiring (Evans, Banks and Belli) for Baron and then try and dump Jose soewhere else

I would rather have Calderon on this team than CV. He's a scrub.

Yeah I could see Baron Davis being a target of Colangelo's for sure.
Rip Hamilton is another person I could see him pursuing.

God I hope not. We'd still be a tread-mill mediocre team. If Bosh is going to stay, I say we go out hard for someone like Andre Igoudala. He's young, a great all around player, and plays defense. I would give up DeRozan + #12 for him.

its definitely dependent on Bosh being on board, and I actually think it would be something that would help him stay
the next question is weather you keep Bargs or not. Do you play Turk as a 6th man and keep Bargs or move Bargs for a defensive big (like Ok or Chandler) and start Turk.

What about Jose, Derozan, Banks, and Reggie for Iggy and Dalembert? Works in the checker.
Philly gets shooting/PG, promise in Derozan, and expirings; TO gets defense, and a legit 2 who can also back up the 3.
Assuming Amir can be resigned, I think a line-up like this can make some noise:
Jack/backup/Belinelli
Iggy/Weems/Belinelli
Hedo/Iggy/Weems
Bargnani/Amir
Dalembert/Bargnani
The real beauty of this is that it allows us to S&T Bosh for the best possible return—including future assets—allowing us to avoid getting stuck with a player like David Lee, who is good but is a classic treadmill type of player. The Houston Bosh deals that have been talked about, for example, would compliment this well.
Does Philly do it?

Re: Raptors 2010 Off-Season Trade Ideas Thread
here are my ideas.
Calderon + Bankks for Davis OR Calderon + Belinelli for Davis
*Belinelli only if we wanted Hamilton also
Banks + Evans for Hamilton?
Hedo + #12 for Deng?
Banks + Evans + #12 for Iguodala?
Also note that Davis and Bosh are good friends.

Yeah I'd be up for going hard after Andre Iguodala too. Of the guys who seem like they might be available this summer, he's probably my favourite target if we're keeping Bosh.

I think we definitely go for a defensive big in this scenario. If we keep Bargs, bring him off the bench.

How do either of those players improve rebounding or team defense? Another overpaid big-name agent is NOT the right way to go. Also, neither are particularly efficient or dynamic scorers, at this point. The Raps have MORE than enough scoring to win...all that is needed is to stop being the worst defensive team of all time...

I don't see it, primarily because Dalembert's contract expires at the same time as Evans/Banks and he's a better player than those two.
You might get somewhere with DeRozan, #12, Evans and Banks for Iguodala, if they decide to trade him.
But they might also try to use Iguodala to unload Brand.

Re: Raptors 2010 Off-Season Trade Ideas Thread
If Bosh is going to Chicago, here's a possible situation:
S&T Bosh for Rights to Asik+2010 first round draftee (TPE generated)
We get a defensive center prospect in Asik, and another pick (don't know who it would be where the Bucks are picking--Alabi? Whiteside? Orton?)
We then orchestrate a salary dump for New Orleans utilizing the TPE: Collison+whatever crap they want to dump for one of our picks (or Asik). It possible they want to dump Okafor, in which case we pick up a solid defensive 10/10 C. In Collison we get a star prospect at PG (who has averaged almost 20/10 in the games he started) locked up on his rookie deal. New Orleans does it because they get instant capspace, and a first round pick from this year.
I would look to dump Jose, and package Reggie and Banks' expiring deals into something.
Okafor/Whiteside?/Asik
Bargs/Amir/Reggie
Hedo/DD
Weems/DD/Beli
Collison/Jack/(Jose needs to be traded)/Banks

I didn't say they were good ideas. I said I thought they were realistic Colangelo targets.
I still think he's going to try to bring in a vet to make a last-ditch plea to Bosh. Those guys seem like they'd be available for the scraps we have on our roster.
I'd much rather we go after Iguodala but I don't know if he can be had for the assets we have available.

Makes sense, I thought that Dally had an extra year. What about swapping Brand in, though? It means we are stuck with Bargs as our 'pure center' again, but we also solve some of the offensive problems that Dalembert would have raised.
I just LOVE the idea of Iggy and Turk paired together...

Re: Raptors 2010 Off-Season Trade Ideas Thread
for me its a couple things
1) he's a guard able to dominate a game, a game changer from a scoring perspective
2) he one of Bosh's good friends and I think it would help keep him stay
definitely doesn't address defensive issues, though he wouldn't be worse then Jose and as a spot up shooter with Turk handeling the ball he'd be effective cause he can shoot and/or drive.
a defensive big in place of Bargs rounds out the line up

what about
Loul Deng for Hedo Turkaglu + #12 (Henry)
then
Jose Calderon + Marcus Banks for Baron Davis
Davis/Jack/PG (minimum like Atkins/Carter)
Derozan/Raja Bell (2 million)/Belinelli
Deng/Weems
Bosh/Evans/Dorsey
Bargnani/Johnson/Powell (1.5 million)
3 of boshs good friends (Davis/Jack/Powell)

Arrgh. Doesn't work with Brand unless we swap Turk for Caldy, which I don't think they do. That said, we could get some filler in the Bosh trade that could do the trick.
