Stevie Blake has become a badass. He's not backing down from anybody. Oh, and I like the goatee:

I wonder how much he'll cost in free agency.

Funny, I saw a reference to this exchange on someone's sig, but never saw the vid. Pretty funny.

Oh! Blake will sign-on with some-team next year.

Interesting to see that Outlaw ran up to Bogut and had Blake's back right away. Meanwhile, Kaman's the one with Bogut talking like their good friends.

Blake definitely has become a tough pro.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Wood does not appear to be the starter in Dallas, his minutes have been 20 and under.

When I saw Rod Strickland in a suit on Kentucky's bench during the tournament, I thought....wow, Rod's a coach? leading young people? he must have grown up....interesting....

http://www.lex18.com/news/uk-basketball ... d-for-dui/

Lexington police arrested University of Kentucky assistant basketball coach Rod Strickland early Sunday morning.

According to police reports, they arrested Strickland just before 3 a.m. at Tates Creek and New Circle Road. The report says an officer saw Strickland run a red light at the intersection, nearly striking another vehicle. Investigators say he failed a field sobriety test, including standing on one leg, walking and turning, and reciting ABCs. Strickland refused a breathalizer and had the smell of alcohol on his breath.

Looks like Philly is about to fire Eddie Jordan.

Eddie HAS to be the worst active head coach in the NBA today. In his 9 years he's never had a squad that finished better than 4 games ove .500. His W-L rate is trash (.434) and it came with 3 different teams, so you can hardly say it was a fluke. And when he did get to the playoffs, his record is abysmal (.308).

There are actually 5 other active coaches with worse career W-L% than Jordan. But it doesn't seem to be fair to slam several guys who have less than a year's experience and whose teams were pretty rotten before they took over: Hughes (Clips), Kiki (Nets), and Rambis (ok - so he coached the Lakers for 37 games in 1999, with a .649 winning percentage, more proof that his current 14-52 record has more to do with Minnesota than Kurt).

One surprising entry on the list is Mike Woodson (.389 regular season record). But I think he's easily excused for the first 3 seasons as Hawk coach, now that he's turned them into a playoff squad. His playofff win rate (.389) is still pretty poor, but its a far sight better than Eddie Jordan's (.308), which is abominable considering he had 3 all stars on his Wizards squads and a legit NBA center in Brendan Haywood.

The only guy who even seems to get close to matching Jordan is Lionel Hollins with his .388 W-L rate. But is he really worse than Jordan? Memphis seems to be headed in the right direction and Hollins has done something no other coach seems to have been able to -- get through to Zach Randolph, which ought to be listed as one of the Modern Wonders of the World.

^^^
The Jig is up for Eddie, he will have collected 6-7 years of income (at millions) for 2 years work after he is fired. He will never be an NBA coach again, but he retires or goes to a college gig flush with cash.

Oh, I wouldn't be so surprised if some sad sack franchise hires Ole EJ.

There seems to be a revolving door for journeyman coaches.

I wonder if he shouldn't just go back to being an offensive coordinator?

Nah. Two spectacular disasters back-to-back is enough to scare away any potential suitors. EJ will not be a head coach in this league unless he goes to the NCAA's for a while, or unless he takes a demotion back to offensive coordinator for a while.

Protect the paint, baby!

The defense is always good if you protect the paint!

Philly's defense was ranked 14th last year. This year, under EJ, they fell to 24th.

The best part is how much worse they are than the next worst team. The list is a pretty steady climb upwards, until that last spot, which just rockets off the charts.

They basically turned their opponents an average of Nick Young's 3 point shooting. If their 3PT% allowed was a decent 35% they would have given up 199 fewer points. That would have put them at the same point differential as Memphis(which would have been a play-off team in the East).

Crappy coaches still get hired. See Chaney, Don.

12 seasons with 4 different teams between 1984 and 2004 and his team broke .500 only 2x.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Eddie show up somewhere else. But he'd be better off as an O assistant for someone.

Steve Blake got a triple double. I wonder if he had to ask anyone to let him get a rebound :)

Jordan's dismissal had been widely speculated for months. His hire was panned by fans and media from the day he arrived and the players never warmed to the Princeton offense.
>snip<
"Overall, we were confused," Dalembert said Thursday. "A lot of guys were confused. We didn't know what was going to happen each day."
>snip<
Jordan, who was fired last season by the Washington Wizards, has two years left on his contract and is owed $6 million.
