I just LOVE the idea of Iggy and Turk paired together...

If Brand is stuck into a trade with Iguodala, the return back to Philly will be worth nothing. Brand is possibly one of the worst contracts right now, being paid near $16+ mil a season. If paired with Iguodala, they would still have to take some bad contracts. Brand would completely neutralize the return. Id say a Jose Hedo Evans #12 could possibly get Brand + Iguodala.

Turk + Iguodala are No No. Why? Because Iguodala is someone who thrives with the ball in his hands. That would again, be 3 playmakers on the starting lineup. BAD IDEA

definitely doesn't address defensive issues, though he wouldn't be worse then Jose and as a spot up shooter with Turk handeling the ball he'd be effective cause he can shoot and/or drive.

a defensive big in place of Bargs rounds out the line up

Yeah, adding a defensive big in place of Bargs would make a huge difference defensively IMO. Baron in place of Jose would be a lateral move defensively but would make us better offensively. We could still try to upgrade defensively at the 2 position too (maybe signing Raja Bell with part of the mid-level?).

Point is, it's tough to address defence/rebounding at the point guard position, and much easier to address it with a change at C.

what about Steve Nash? Would he be available if Amare leaves?

Calderon + #12?

2 expiring vets that help now. A young big to add to the Scottie timeline
I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

Oh man I would LOVE to have Steve Nash running this team. I wouldn't miss one minute of a Raptors game.

Would love to get Chandler and I know i've heard in the past that LB likes Jose so maybe you could work something there

Jose and Bargs and 12 for Chandler and DJ

Trade
Toronto Sends: Chris Bosh(s&t), Jose Calderon
Lakers Send: Andrew Bynum, Sahsha Vujacic, Adam Morrison(option picked up to make salaries work, then bought out)

Re-sign Amir Johnson

Try to trade up and draft Al-Farouq Aminu using expirings + #12
Buy a late first rounder and draft Dominique Jones
Sign a veteran bigman, PG

Jack
DeRozan
Aminu
Bargs
Bynum

Turk
Veteran PG
Amir
Jones
Weems
Veteran Big (Tim Thomas?)

Tons of potential, very young. That team should be bad enough to get a top 3 pick and draft Brandon Knight in 2011.

I don't see it. Nash is only owed $22 million through 2012. Calderon is owed more than $29 million through 2013 (ugh ugh ugh).

Since Nash is approximately 1 trillion times better than Calderon and cheaper, I don't think that the 12th overall pick makes up the difference.

I wonder if the pricetag for Chandler wouldn't be a bit lower. He's expiring after next season but he only played 22 minutes a game this year.

If we're looking to save Bosh, something like Bargs/Jack/Reggie for Kaman/Davis.

Hedo/Banks to GSW for Biedrins/Turiaf.

Why don't we go for Iguodala + Brand? Would that help move him here? Unless there's another issue.

I would not mind taking a flier on Chandler. But I think the price would be a lot lower than that.

Something like:

Jose+Banks+Evans+Belli for Chandler and Diop?

Bobcats turn turn Chandler's expiring contract and questionable health and Diop's useless contract (expiring in 2013) into a serviceable starting pg and more expiring contracts. Both teams fill an area of need...
Raps turn Jose's bad contract into Diop's useless one, plus the very servicable Chandler.

Thoughts?

edit: another big reason for Charlotte to do this is that they appear too cheap to give a new contract to Felton.

all i know is it's useless to speculate what BC will do because he always pulls it out of left field. And any trade involving Evans/Jose/Banks to Philly is pie in the sky dreaming as Holiday is their PG of the future and having Williams backing him up means that position is solidified.

Chandler is an expiring, Cha taking back Jose signed for 4 years is a big swing IMO, unless they really do like Jose that much

Indeed, Hedo and Charlie would be a wonderful combo. Hedo could initiate him into the joys of drinking raki, while Charlie lights him up with some great Mexican gold.

What's worse than having one overpaid sloth on the roster? How about two overpaid sloths?

I highly doubt we have the assets to acquire iguodala assuming that we intend to keep chris bosh. I doubt derozan + 12th + filler is going to net us iguodala. I think there are a lot of teams that are interested and can offer more for iguodala.

imo, while everyone thinks Iguodala on the high side, I really do not. He is at best a 2nd best option that is paid a hefty long contract. He also has plantar facitis (sp?) (I remember hearing it somewhere) which is also a major concern. I would not package our whole future on him, and even if we do, id like to get rid of a long contract with it, not expirings.

I like Iggy, But not for Derozan. We should just let bosh walk. I actually think we will "Become" a better team once he leaves. Not instantly. But We will. Nothing happens over night. I would HATE Deng on this team. Not a fan of him.

If Bosh leaves...

Hedo for Eddy Curry. Yes Curry sucks...but at least you can get out from under Hedo's contract.

Or...

Using the TPE you. (This one one big deal that is broken out into smaller deals to work under the CBA)

Use the TPE (broken into two parts) to absorb Peja and collison from N.O.
Send Hedo, Jack, Weems, and the rights to your pick this year for Okafor and Collison.

It turns out to be Hedo, Jack, Weems and a #1 for Collison, Okafor and Peja.

Collison
Derozen
Peja
Bargs
Okafor

Right now, there is no reason for N.O. to give up Collison, he is really good and really cheap...so it will cost you quite a bit to get him. Cutting about $10M of their salary will do that.
Jealousy is a sickness.......get well soon....

Why in hells name would NYK do that?

Curry expires after next season. And he can be traded for ACTUAL VALUE.

Turkypoo has like a bagillion years left on his contract and has almost no value.
