Re: Toronto Raptors 2010 Offcial Trade Ideas Thread
K here is my Raptors delusional off season (trying to be semi realistic).
1) SnT Bosh and Hedo to Chicago for Deng + TPE
2) Use TPE to suck in Brand, AI for Banks/Evans/DD + the right to swap picks (Raptors grab Aldrich)
3) Move Jose somewhere I don't know.
4) Resign Amir and get Chris Duhon or Steve Blake on a 2 year deal for back up PG.
Jack/Duhon
AI/Belinalli
Deng/Weems
Brand/Amir
Bargnani/Aldrich

#12 for resigned Anthony Morrow
Calderon, Evans, Weems or 2nd for Dampier, Barea
resign Amir (maybe Wright too if he's cheap and Weems is traded)
Jack/Barea/Banks
Morrow/DeRozan/Beli
Turk/Weems or 2nd/DeRozan
Bosh/Amir
Bargs/Damp
no rookies but Morrow is young.
still have MLE to spend and 19M expiring on board.

Yeah I could see Baron Davis being a target of Colangelo's for sure.
Rip Hamilton is another person I could see him pursuing.
No, Baron has always been injury prone and Rip is starting to show signs of aging.

No way GSW does that. Their first is a good shot at either John Wall or Evan Turner.

Depending on how ping-pong balls land, and how the draft goes. You can do that on Draft Day.
But yea, GSW probably won't do that.

Mr.Raptorsingh wrote:Rhettmatic wrote:Has New Orleans done anything to indicate Darren Collison could be on the trade block? Honest question, because I keep seeing his name pop up in these hypothetical trades.
Well, the thinking is that his trade value is at an all-time high. I don't think it can get any higher, especially if he's backing up Chris Paul at PG, playing 15-20 mpg. He's too good to be a backup PG. It's kind of a situation similar to the one the Raps had with Ford and Calderon. Calderon being the guy who had a lot of trade value, something that we failed to capitalize on. Maybe, New Orleans will bite the bullet, and deal him.
But, if I'm the Hornets GM, I'm reluctlant to deal Collison...unless I can get rid of my bad contracts which would give me a ton of cap flexibility when Chris Paul becomes a FA, AND/OR I can get a player who has similar production-to-contract value. I believe we've got some pieces to offer that would be enticing, mainly the TPE from a Bosh S&T, Sonny Weems or our draft pick (I hate to do it, but..), and Marcus Banks' expiring.
I mean, it all comes down to what value you place on Darren Collison. Do you think he's a game-changer, franchise-type PG? If so, a hefty price wouldn't be that hard to pay.
Exactly. Collison will make $1.36M next year, $1.45M the year after that, and $2.32M the year after that....then he will have a QO of $3.32M the year after that.
There is no way the Hornets move Collison unless they are dumping serious salary and/or getting serious assets in return.
Take on Posey....and offer them up something of decent value and maybe they would do it.
Jealousy is a sickness.......get well soon....

Re: Toronto Raptors 2010 Offcial Trade Ideas Thread
I am hopeful T-Mac is gonna explode next year for 20+ ppg.
1. Sign & Trade Bosh + Calderon to NY for Lee + Curry
Do this with whatever is necessary. Use picks, money, etc.
(Joe Johnson, Calderon, Bosh, etc. would be a great team for them as well.)
2. Trade Bargnani for a defensive big like Noah, Kaman, or even Camby + filler, or Dalembert, or whoever you can get, like a defensive center plus a filler (this is not a must, but is better for the offense defense balance)
3. Get rid of Wright (or send Belinelli as second option)
4. Sign T-mac for midlevel...
Jack + Turk
Tmac + DD + Beli (whoever is healthy and playing great, start him)
Turk + Weems
Lee + Amir
Kaman + Curry.
Balanced offense and defense. You may put Hedo to bench for Weems and Jack can be the play-maker. Substitute him for Hedo, use him as the play-maker for the second unit.
I definitely like this team. I'll try to check if the numbers work. Any comments?

TMac, Hedo, and Lee would be absolutely atrocious defensively. It'd be hard for us to get worse on that end, but I think that'd about do it.

Toronto Gets:
Andre Iguodala $12,345,250
Samuel Dalembert $12,912,823
Toney Douglas $1,071,000 (absorbed through Kapono trade exception)

Re: Toronto Raptors 2010 Offcial Trade Ideas Thread
Pessimistic (realistic?) offseason summary:
BC has two main goals for this offseason: 1. Getting a C to go alongside Bosh and/or Bargs; and 2. finding a guy who can defend 2s and 3s and who can score consistently. I think we can all agree on this. I'm also pretty sold that he is NOT going to draft a 2 or a 3 with our draft pick because they won't be ready and you've already got young talent in Sonny, DD, and Beli. Adding another wing player outside of Wall or Turner (i.e. winning the lottery) is not going to solve anything. So that means that C will be filled by either the draft or through trades and the 2/3 is going to be filled either with the MLE or through trades. In other words if we keep the draft pick I think we're drafting a big man no matter if Bosh stays or goes.
2/3 Options:
Iggy
Hamilton
Raja Bell
and honestly I think thats it. Because who else is there? Wade and Joe Johnson are out. Turner and Wall will be gone by 12. Who else out there is realistically available that is better than DD/Sonny/Beli and on a cheaper deal? Those three are making like $5 million combined.
C Options:
Dalembert
Aldrich (I think he may fall)
Whiteside
Alabi
Any other C draft prospect around the mid round range
Chandler
Okafor
Mohammed
Gortat at a steep cost
Even if we sign and trade Bosh I don't think we're getting a Bynum or Noah back, so there is what's realistic IMO. I'm going to just assume Amir is re-signed because of how valuable he is to us. Can anyone add anyone else that we would realistically be able to get? I don't think so.
Our assets:
Evans' expiring ~$5 million
Banks' expiring ~$5 million
Draft Pick #12 - if we dealt it, my guess is that it would be a pre-draft arranged deal sometime after the lottery. Note: we don't have a second pick because that goes to Miami as part of the JO deal.
DD - can't see him being traded at this point.
Weems - can't really see him being traded either, although he's not a deal breaker.
Beli - I can see him being moved, but I feel he could have a future here.
Bosh (S&T) - Not going to get as much as people think we would get for him. TPE + picks at best IMO.
Bargs - is not getting moved. There's just no way BC is going to trade him. End of story.
Hedo - immovable. You might be able to get an expiring for him with our draft pick, but I would rather keep him then give up more talent. He's not going anywhere.
Jose - he's going to be very, very tough to move. Something along the lines of Jose + Beli for Curry is what's going to happen if he gets moved. He's not going to LA, and no team with cap space is going to take him on outright. There's really no where else I can see him going. NY or bust, because we can take Curry and give them a starting PG AND keep their cap space. Maybe Detroit if we take Hamilton (who I don't want). Washington is keeping Arenas. There just isn't many options.
My best guess, and this sorta goes off of what Rapsobsessed7 has posted (minus Douglas and plus Beli):
To New York: Jose, Beli
To Philly: Curry, Banks, Evans, #12
To Toronto: Dalembert, Iggy
-Raja Bell partial MLE
-Amir 4 years, $24 million (going to have to overpay)
-PG on a min deal or a purchased second round pick
Jack/backup
Iggy/Bell/DD
Hedo/Weems
Bosh/Amir
Bargs/Dalembert
ECF contender right there. You don't even need a strong backup PG because Hedo, Iggy, and Jack can all handle it. Thats the most athletic team in the league I would say.

Nets and Raptors
Resigned CB4 for 1st Overall pick
Hedo - Bobby simmons
Belli - Twill
New jersey does this to convince LeBron or JJ or Wade to come to newjersey to pair up with CB. They get a replacement for Simmons in Hedo(similar contracts) and get a prospect in Belli for Twill.
Grizzlies and Raptors
Jose for Marco Jaric
- 26th overall pick
- 28th overall pick
We do this trade for the picks and to get rid of jose's contract but take a bad contract in Jaric. Memphis does this trade for a decent PG that they lack, and since they would have no use in Jaric since Brewer and Mayo already hold the 2 position.
Fire JT and continue to pay his contract and hire JVG.

This
To TOR: Andre Iguodala + Baron Davis
To PHI: Marcus Banks + Marco Belinelli + Reggie Evans + Rights to Xavier Henry
To LAC: Jose Calderon + 3 million TE
It can be broken down to something smaller. Both deals can happen before July 1.
Banks + Evans + #12 for Andre Iguodala
they do it because of the new CBA in 2011. Basically Henry will make 1.5 million while Iguodala will make 13. Gives them max cap room for 2011 which is a nice idea too.
Calderon + Belinelli for Davis
Calderon and Belinelli might fit better in LAC, run a more half court oriented system and will fit nicely with kaman. I like Davis here to push the tempo a bit.
Raptors Off-Season:
- Sign Josh Powell (1.5 million of MLE)
- re-sign Amir Johnson (4.5 million x amount of years)
- Sign Chucky Atkins (minimum)
- Sign Devin Brown (minimum)
- Sign Tony Battier or other C for minimum
Baron Davis / Jarret Jack / Chucky Atkins
Andre Iguodala / Demar Derozan / Devin Brown
Hedo Turkaglu / Sonny Weems
Chris Bosh / Amir Johnson / Joey Dorsey
Andrea Bargnani / Josh Powell / Tony Battie
look at that starting 5. nuts. Good young running team off the bench. Bosh stays 100% for that. Love it.
To TOR: Andre Iguodala + Baron Davis
To PHI: Marcus Banks + Marco Belinelli + Reggie Evans + Rights to Xavier Henry
To LAC: Jose Calderon + 3 million TE

2 expiring vets that help now. A young big to add to the Scottie timeline
I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

Just wondering, does expiring cash and a 1st rounder land Jack if Bosh leaves and you're forced to rebuild?

No way.
He's one of the only players we have who earns his paycheque.
