Hey, all I did was ask if that's something possible. When teams start to rebuild, ESPECIALLY when they have a PG on their roster like Calderon that is really tough to move, they might make a move like this to shed salary and gain draft picks.

It's not like I'm saying Sasha for LeBron here or anything.

Maybe, but Jack is still fairly young, and is on a CHEAP deal. If he was a big contract like Calderon/Hedo, then yes we'd do it.

It's understandable. Jack is a great bargain contract.

Just saying, if Calderon CANNOT be moved (which is possible - PG is the most stacked position in the NBA and not many people would touch) and management wants to shed salary after losing Bosh, you never know what they'll do.

It's the same league that saw Baron and Vince traded for expiring cash. Different circumstances I know, but in this league cash rules all.

Kobe Byrant for Reggie Evans + Marcus Banks + 12th pick + CASH

shed his new 90 million dollar salary. As you said cash rules everything. I mean if Phil retires you might want to shed cash right, so i know this is different circumstances but as you said cash rules.

No way GSW does that. Their first is a good shot at either John Wall or Evan Turner.

Depending on how ping-pong balls land, and how the draft goes. You can do that on Draft Day.

But yea, GSW probably won't do that.

DEFINITELY. :o

Both Nellie and Riley said REBOUNDING is a priority. Both expect Biedrins is back healthy and pulling 11+ rebounds. Without the pick swap,it's dead. Odds seem to favor a pick at 3-4-5,and Cousins,Monroe or Favors would be okay with me,even if I like Evan.

How about another "all in" move? I dunno how many more times BC can go "all in" though. And 6 for 3 trade is kinda odd.

N.O trades

Chris Paul
Emeka Okafor
James Posey
33 million

Toronto Trades
Jarret Jack
Reggie Evans
Andrea Bargnani
Marcus Banks
Demar Derozan
whoever we get with the #12 pick.
27 million.

Why for N.O?

1st year savings-$6million
2nd year savings-$17 million.
etc.. etc.. As well as possibly saving some luxury tax money.

They save a lot of money. They already have a PG that can start if CP3 leaves, and they get Jack who can play backup PG, or SG with Collison. Along with saving $, and getting Jack they also get some nice young pieces to rebuild with Derozan, Bargs, and the #12 pick to help ease the loss of CP3.

Why for Toronto?

It's a move to win, and not have to enter rebuilding mode. The addition of CP3 should keep Bosh around as well. And Okafor should be a solid C on a roster that has CP3, and Bosh. All you need to do is find a couple solid wings and you should be good to go. Having Marco, Turk and Weems around is a start.

Portland would be interesting destination for a Bosh S&T. You could even sell it to Bosh in a "we've decided to rebuild, we want to put you in the best situation" way. It's a young and very successful team, with a terrific SG and Cs that can actually play help D (Camby & Oden). It's a more proven team than Chicago and the coaching situation is more stable. Furthermore, a S&T with Aldridge+Bayless wouldn't weaken the Blazers much since Bosh is essentially taking LMA's spot.

OK, you're probably wondering why the hell Toronto would want LMA since he's Bosh-lite and the same problems would exist. Answer: this is a rebuild. The strategy would be to tear down the team until it's awful and reload through the draft. I think Bosh would accept a trade to Portland and LMA is a better asset than anything we'd get from an under-cap team. His value ain't much higher than Bargs, if at all, but neither would be the cornerstone of a team. I think LMA's athleticism makes him slightly more suitable at PF than Bargs. In any case, he's also movable.

Bargs would be the next to go. Chicago might have an interest since they need front court scoring and have Noah to anchor the D. I also think it'd be much easier to attract a game-changer like Wade with a Rose/Deng/Bargs/Noah core. Hinrich (as filler) + Gibson + future 1st would be enough for me.

Jose goes for anything. Maybe to Memphis for Jaric's expiring, or a team like NY that might not mind an expensive backup.

Hedo unfortunately stays. If we let him jack up all the shots he wants, maybe some team will get fooled into thinking he's turned it around.

Jose for Maggette + swap this year's 1st rounders

or

Banks (expiring), Evans (expiring) for Maggette + swap 1st rounders

I really feel Raps should try moving into top 5 this year.

The Richard Hamilton trade is interesting. He can play off the ball. He can be had straight up for expirings.

i think this 100% makes bosh stay.

Toronto Sends:
Marcus Banks $4,847,586
Marco Belinelli $2,380,270
Rights to Patrick Patterson (#12)

New Jersey Sends:
Devin Harris $8,981,000

* this deal only happens if they get Wall

Patterson and Wall reunite in NJ. They would draft Bledsoe later on with Dallas pick and it would really make Wall and Paterson more comfortable IMO.

Toronto gets its all-star guard that can create, play defense, is still young.

Wall/Bledsoe/Banks
Lee/CDR
Gay(signed)/Williams
Patterson/Yi/Humphries
Lopez/FA/Jordan (2nd rounder)

then Toronto has a problem. We have Harris/Calderon/Jack so obviously you move Calderon next.

Toronto Sends:
Jose Calderon $9,000,000
Reggie Evans $5,080,000

Toronto Gets:
Richard Hamilton $12,500,000

Toronto gets its SG to now make Bosh happy and re-sig

Detroit Sends:
Richard Hamilton $12,500,000
Chris Wilcox $3,000,000

Detroit Gets:
Reggie Evans $5,080,000
Eddy Curry $11,276,863
Rights to Jordan Crawford (Knicks 2nd Round Pick)

They get expiring contracts for Hamilton

Stuckey/Bynum/Collins (2nd rounder)
Gordon/Crawford
Prince/Daye/Summer
Jerebko/CV/Evans
Aldrich/Maxiell/Curry

New York Sends:
Eddy Curry $11,276,863
Rights to Jordan Crawford (Knicks 2nd Round Pick)

New York Gets:
Chris Wilcox $3,000,000
Jose Calderon $9,000,000

they get depth. Wilcox and Calderon provide positions of need for them.

Calderon/Douglas
Johnson/Walker
Gallo/Chandler
Lee/Baron
Wilcox/Jordan (2nd rounder)
__________________________________________________________________________________________
Raptors Off-Season:
- Sign Chucky Atkins (minimum)
- Sign Joel Anthony (1.5 million)
- Sign Josh Powell (1.5 million)
- Sign Devin Brown (minimum)

Harris/Jack/Atkins
Hamilton/Derozan/Brown
Hedo/Weems
Bosh/Johnson/Dorsey
Bargnani/Anthony/Powell

= ECF team. Bosh gets everything he wants and we move the players we want to move. Works out for each team too, they get everything they need. This could realistically happen.

CHI receives: Bargnani
TOR receives: Hinrich, Gibson, Chicago 2010 pick

3-way
LAL receives: Jack
PHI receives: Vujacic, Banks, DeRozan, CHI 2010 pick
TOR receives: Iguodala, LA 1st rounder
*** LA replaces Fisher with another big PG that can defend and hit open shots in the triangle, Philly gets cap space and 2 young prospects, Toronto gets a playmaking wing that can play D

Second 3-way
MEM receives: Calderon, cash from Toronto
CHA receives: Jaric, Evans, Raptors 2010 pick
TOR receives: Chandler
*** I think the Bobcats could extend Tyrus and use him to replace Chandler ... I don't think they'd let Thomas go after trading a pick for him, and they'd run into serious luxury taxes if they kept Chandler+Thomas+Felton. Jaric's salary is already being paid from a buyout, so that saves about $6 mil.

(~$68 to $70ish mil total salary, depending on additional scrubs)
Starting lineup
C - Chandler
PF - Bosh
SF - Weems
SG - Iguodala
PG - Hinrich

Bench
-Gibson
-Turkoglu
-Belinelli
-resigned Amir or a MLE free agent

Bosh - Bargnani duo inside can never take any team to the conference finals.
