Latest Sports Guy Column

Post#1 » by ReasonablySober » Fri Dec 28, 2007 7:12 pm

is awesome and he didn't even write it.

His wife wiped the floor with him this year in picking NFL games. She explains her methodology.

Bengals (-2.5) over DOLPHINS
If it's an all-animal matchup, I always try to weigh that accordingly. Dolphins are cuddly and nice. I don't understand why any NFL team would wear aqua blue unis and call itself "The Dolphins," then not expect to get its butt kicked. They should go with the Spearfishers. I would have taken them if they were the Spearfishers.

I couldn't help but laugh out loud after reading that.

Great read. The Sports Gal could have her own weekly column, and I'd probably read it.

Still the most entertaining column on the web even though he is the biggest homer writer in the world. Look forward to it every week

She reminds me of a lady at my work. The lady won $2000 in a knockout losers pool. You pick a team to lose each week but can't pick the same team twice. Her strategy was to pick teams that hadn't lost a lot because they were due to win. She also wouldn't pick against a team with a great record because that team was due to lose. She would never pick a team that was playing against the Colts because she didn't like Payton Manning's commercials. She would never take the team that according to the spread was the big favorite because it made her feel uncomfortable. One week she actually picked against the Lions because she thought their QB looked funny. Each week she was the last person to turn in her pick because she had to go over 20 variables and maybe 2 of them had to do with football. Yet she won $2000. It still eats at me.
