This is like being the best student in a class of retards. We didnt have a player of the year. Nobody stepped up when needed and a player of Davis' caliber would surely not deserve this 'honour'. He's a well paid veteran pg. He shouldve done more. If anybody would get my vote for player of the year it would be Craig Smith for always working hard and playing 100% every time.

I agree with loot I was thinking about last season and it was clear cut that EJ was our player of the year. This year no one really stood out to me. I think that Camby could have been our player of the year but he was traded mid season. I also agree with loot that Craig Smith did play hard all season and he is a player I would like to see come back.

Baron did play better at the end of the season but I just see this season as another disappointment.
I've been an LA Clipper fan since 1998 and that will never change. I hate our new logo and jerseys!

WOW. You have to be kidding me. Baron as our MVP. He sucks. He has no heart. Kaman is the only player that played his heart out all year. Baron may have some stats but the leadership didn't isn't there. Wake up/

I think Camby and Gooden should share the award.

I'm merely the messenger, please don't shoot. This is only a mere tabulation from the voice of the people. I voted for Baron in 4 of his 7.5 wins/ties.

I would agree that nobody really stood out, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Last year everyone sucked or was injured, so EJ pretty much won by default. He was healthy and provided the most consistency and/or explosive games. This year, guys that were hurt last year were relatively healthy. Baron played 75 games, Kaman played 76, Camby only missed 1 game with us (played 51 of 52), butt we still sucked. Baron is either hit or miss, but I suppose you can say that he plays well in our wins.

If I were straight out voting for a player as opposed to their player of the game totals, I'd probably go with Camby or Kaman myself.

Marcus Camby was the player of the year.
No doubt in my mind.
Portland will likely be signing him to a 2-year $21 million extension tomorrow or the next day. Too bad it's not the Clippers doing so.

I was partially holding onto hope that he would re-join us this summer, but I can't get mad at him for taking that type of contract. It is far more than I thought he would get, but Portland is in the position where it can overpay and not suffer as a result. Camby is a player that every team needs and should want (although Denver and their fans think otherwise).

Clippers problem was not getting more for Camby- they should've been able to land some sort of asset that would last beyond the end of this season (though I guess they could re-sign Outlaw.) Otherwise what was the point? To solidify our backup PG depth for a postseason run?

I'm happy for Camby though.

As far as POY goes, it's interesting that no one would've voted for Baron, although he clearly won the most POG's during the season.

Definitely surprised. Didn't realize BD had that many good games this season.
