The First Inaugural Random Thought Thread

So yesterday, a fellow poster who shall remain anonymous (read: it was BullsandBears) PMs me and says, hey Brooklyn, you suck, we should have a random thought thread. So, after going my original instinct to delete the message and then ban him, I decided he was right. So here it is!

This thread is meant for all the miscellaneous ponderings, the maniacal wonderings, of our wonderful community. If you've got something to say that truly belongs nowhere else...its home is right here.

So, I'll start off.

I think the media is really overblowing this whole "double down" KFC thing. I had one yesterday and I only passed out like twice. And when I woke up I was still eating it so it's all good.

Did you know that Lincoln's casket was covered in cement 30 years after his death to prevent body snatchers from stealing the body? Before the workers covered it, they opened the casket to see if the body was still in there. This is what they saw:

It was said that a harsh choking smell arose when the casket was opened. Lincoln was perfectly recognizable, even more than thirty years after his death. His face was a bronze color, from the gunshot wound that shattered the bones in his face and damaged the tissue. The color was unhealed bruises. His hair, beard and mole were all perfectly preserved although his eyebrows were gone. His suit was covered with a yellow mold and his gloves had rotted on his hands. On his chest, they could see some bits of red fabric — remnants of the American flag with which he was buried, which had by then disintegrated. Lincoln's body was embalmed. It makes me wonder if Lincoln's body is still preserved.

In a completely non-sarciastic way, why the hell are people complaining about the double down?

The fried one is 540 calories, the grilled one is 460. Neither one really hits my barometer for "OMG THAT'S BAD!".
