You know, I heard a lot of people call in to 1320 yesterday and talk about how much that game showed us that Boozer is so important to this team and only increased his value to me. That's true, but I look at that game in a different way. To me, it shows how worthless he is to us watching the game from the bench. I'm not going to claim that he should have played or that he is faking an injury, but I am going to say that he is injury prone, and couldn't have gotten injured at a worse time.
Imagine if the roles were reversed, we had Amare, and the Suns had Boozer, and had to watch us decimate them while their prized PF watched from the comfort of the sideline. Now I'm not comparing them skill wise, I'm simply saying that his injury problems are going to hold this team back, even in a season where he only missed a handful of games.
This is why I am wary of resigning Boozer. He fits our system perfectly, is a monster on the glass, and takes this team to a new level. If he didn't keep getting injured, he would be perfect, but the way he is now, he will not be worth the money he is demanding, or what other teams are going to pay him. And don't just call me a Boozer hater, until the injury, I was extremely impressed with what he has done this season, but to see him sitting there while our team got wasted and needed him the most just really pissed me off.
BTW, all this applies to AK, except that he will not be getting anywhere near a max offer and knows it. I think we can get him back for cheap, which would be a great deal.

Word is, South Beach is ecstatic that they
won't be seeing Millsaps talents again this season...

Re: The Day After....rumors?
Like I said before, these were just rumors. That's why I asked to see if anyone else had heard any validity to them.
If there is validity to them, I find it interesting for the following reasons.
I know Boozer's rep regarding being a "me first" type of player. I thought given the circumstance maybe he would step up and put the team's interest ahead of his this one time. He didn't. Getting the 3rd seed would have put the Jazz in a much better position. Memo played not at 100%, why not Boozer and AK. A 90% Boozer and/or AK is much better than a 100% Koufus any day.
Also, if the rumor about Deron asking Boozer to play has some validity, I wonder if it could effect the team's chemistry and the offseason. I mean for him to go up to Boozer and ask him to play even though he is hurt is significant.
Just my two cents.

AK is a massive expiring contract this coming year, he still has trade value, im not sure what teams are set up for a big offseason push in 2011, but im sure theres some and we can probably get talent in return. So I would not think his trade value is low.

Well, I guess what I should have said was that his trade value was on the rise to be more than just an expiring. His play was a major reason why the Jazz ended up with over 50 wins this season. Hell, I bet they would have been fighting Houston for the 8th spot if he was out all year.
