With the first overall pick, we're pleased to select:

Image

Hakeem Olajuwon!

Code: Select all

27.8 PPG, 10.9 RPG, 3.5 APG with 1.8 SPG, and 3.4 BPG on .517 from the field.

In the playoffs, he took it to another level, winning finals MVP on the way:

Code: Select all

33.0 PPG, 10.0 RPG, 4.5 APG, 2.8 BPG on .531 from field

Anchored a top 5 FG% defense, a monster in the low block, and despite a lack of accolades in the selected year, the unquestioned best player of this time.

I select David Robinson.

1st team All-NBA, 1st Team All Defensive, and league MVP

Dominant defensive anchor and a nightmare on the offensive end as well.

Still young, but already leading the league in scoring and just dominating everything in his path

Good stuff.

I won't initiate the use of a clock today since folks haven't had fair warning. A 6 hour clock from the moment the previous pick is made will put into effect starting at 12pm EST.

Karl Malone is the greatest pure PF to ever play the game. He finished with the 2nd most 1st place MVP votes, was top five in most significant statistical categories, 1st Team All-NBA, and three consecutive 1st Team All-D selections were on the horizon. Prime Mailman is a perfect franchise cornerstone in an era that is lacking in PF depth.

The time isn't up yet.

There are a couple of options here if time is up:

1) Autopick

2) Skip him. He assumes whichever draft position he shows up at permanently. I sorta like this option better.

#2 is better. Then he gets to make his own pick and simply assume a new draft position.

Agree

.HATE autopick btw; it's supposed to be YOUR team, If you don't look, don't send a list, and fall behind . . . then welcome to the Clippers. Usually not a problem this early in a draft though but always one later on.

Alright, without too much research, i m going to take scottie. Was actually a solid first option, a great playmaker and absolutely elite defender

K, per his request via phone, Miller4ever selects Gary Payton.

As much as I'd love to take credit for this daring triumph of cheap humor, this was Miller's request as well.

Since our club is located in South Beach and it might be distracting to most players, we are going to take CHARLES BARKLEY -- heck, it's his normal lifestyle anyway.
