Gruden's QB Camp

Post#1 » by Kobblehead » Sat Apr 17, 2010 5:22 pm

Man, this is one of the best specials I've seen. I hope he does this every year. Watching this, I think McCoy and Tebow easily come off as the most coachable and have the best outlook on the game. Clausen seems like a diva and can't accept criticism.

Where'd you get the diva attitude from in that video? Can't accept criticism? Looks to me like, as soon as Gruden started giving him advice, the first thing Clausen did was take his pen and start writing down said advice.

I think it's pretty cool. I thought Clausen gave the impression he's heard all this before.

Is it just me or did Bradford seem sort of disinterested :dontknow:

I'd love to hear his real thoughts on these guys. I bet it would be really interesting.

He doesn't strike me as a guy who would be a fan of Sam Bradford. I was waiting for him to call Bradford a puss y.

Seems to me like he would love the challenge of Clausen however. And I would love to hear some audio of the practices if he did end up working with Clausen.. Solid gold.

Interesting segment though.

Do you really think he was writing down Gruden's advice? LMAO..

I hated Jimmy coming out of High School and at Notre Dame, but think he is way underrated in this draft.

I got the same impression as Icness and it looked like Jimmy was just doodling to avoid eye contact / confrontation with Gruden and like he had all this before.

Maybe he was, maybe he wasn't. We can't say for sure since we have no shot of of the paper. But to assume that he was just doodling, I think exemplifies the hate that Clausen gets from a lot of people. Granted, his answers were short, which I don't really see as a problem. In fact, I see it as a possible bonus. You think Michael Jordan or Kobe or Peyton Manning needed someone to tell them what they did wrong in a game? No, they're usually the first to know, and hate themselves for making that mistake. That's kind of the feel that I got from Gruden pointing it out to Clausen.

So the entire time, he was sitting there...listening to Gruden. And the moment Gruden actually starts to give him advice, is the time he decides to doodle? Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.

He might be a diva (though some say he's changed), but I can't imagine that Clausen would be dumb enough to draw doodles on a piece of paper during a high-profile interview by a high-profile coach/analyst.

Jon Gruden is in heaven with this segment. If we was still the Bucs coach he'd try to draft them all.
To quote GetSeven
With Jimmy at the 2 spot this lineup (along with depth) has the potential to be the best since the Jordan/Pippen days easy.

Yeah, good call with saying Bradford looked disinterested. It seems like Bradford and Clausen were the least willing to take something from the meeting. Neither would be the guy I'd build my franchise around. Tebow and McCoy on the other hand really showed why people are raving about their coachability.

I liked the way Tebow Mccoy and Jimmy reacted to everything Gruden had to say they seemed like they really wanted to learn more and more and Bradford in my opinoin was like watever to the whole thing

Why wouldnt you want to build your Franchise around Bradford? He has deff shown what he is capable of

I don't know if he has the durability to survive in the NFL. I don't know if he can make the successful transition from the spread to a pro set. If I was at the top of the draft, I'm trading out of that pick and just banking on getting McCoy down the line. Bradford has too many questions to be guaranteed all that money. That's just my opinion, though.

Id take my chance of Bradford learning how to play from out of shotgun (which he did his first year BTW) over the chance of McCoy learning how to throw downfield or Tebow fixing everything wrong with him.

What about his ability to take a hit? With his candy shoulder and that terrible o-line, that's a bad investment, in my opinion.
