Jesus, Elton Brand's ruptured achilles kept him out 9 months? That would mean Memo wouldn't even be back in time to start next season... This hurts bad...

well...it's do or die for this kid. this is his chance, time to ball up big fella.

I guess it's officially 3-6 months.

Boozer says that Memo cried when he made the "sobering realization that his season is over". That makes me sad inside.

Oh jesus, this isn't good. Okur is already limited in mobility. This could be worse than a 3-6 month stint in rehab. This injury moved Elton Brand from an allstar PF to a below-average starting one. I can't imagine what it COULD do to Okur. I hope he has a full recovery- he's one clutch bastard.

Actually, I don't think it'll effect him too much. Don't really have to be the nimblest of players to camp the 3pt line.

This might of just changed our offseason plans now that we need a C that can contribute. Could this force KOC's hand to actually go out and get a real Center?

I hope he can have a fast as possible recovery. The guy is a warrior and is so tough to play with that injury to begin with.

If it turns out to be a season ender, can we get some of his salary back?

Everyone's bitching about AK and even Boozer being overly cautious with their injuries and praising Memo for playing through his and look what happens...

Players are not manning up..Okur did and got unlucky...He deserves the extension he got bc he went out to earn it. Boozer doesnt deserve anything but a kick in the azz as he exits the back door this summer. Hard to believe it but it might be the time to clean house and rebuild around the young guys and DWILL. A wasted season that would not have been a waste if KOC wasnt our GM. FIreKOC.com

Every week you change your mind on Boozer. Sometimes I don't blame you, but maybe you should think about it until you have made up your mind?

100% right, HappyProle.

I'll concede that this is an inopportune time, but I'll remind everyone that NBA championships are not won with jumpshooting statues playing the bulk of minutes at the five. I would not be upset if he's played his last game for Utah, but I certainly hope he recovers in time for Turkey and can continue his career in optimum health elsewhere.

Cue the hate...

I don't remember anyone complaining that AK is overly cautious. I don't doubt at all that he legitimately needs to sit out a while. My rap on him is that he is overly injured in the first place; and yes you CAN avoid those kinds of injuries by eating well and taking care of yourself. AK is a twig.

I don't understand the hate.

Enjoy watching Fesenko, aka a mobile big shot blocking center with no offensive game. Somehow I don't think that spells championship either.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

Jesus, give the guy some credit for getting out there and putting his long-term health on the line for a ring. If Okur sat this board would be up in arms. From what I've read, I'm thinking the timetable for recovery is more 9-12 months versus 3-6. Definitely another crippling punch in the gut to add to an already disappointing end of the season...

Definitely a strong candidate for dumbest statement of the year award. Oh, darn you AK, if you only had eaten your porridge with organic non-sweetened apple sauce you'd be holding down the fort for us now. Curse your Russian barbaric love for sausages and gravy, you animal you!

Reality check: a strained muscle happens to the best of us.

+1

Okur played when he should have been resting putting himself at risk. Okur has been a great part of this team and this might have killed his career. That would be a terrible loss for him and us.

Memo deserves tons of props for what he did for us. The man put his career on the line for this team and organization. Memo is the best example of what we want this organization to represent as far as toughness and unselfishness.

Reports are he will need 3-6 months to recover but I can't imagine it will be that quickly. I will be happy to get him before the trade deadline next year.
