What a pitching display by Santana against the Cardinals today. Near 50 pitches in the first two innings but ended up with pitching 7 shutout-out innings while striking out 9. Obviously, his fastball wasn't as consistent as he wanted to be, but he had great command of his off-speed pitches. He's been throwing more sliders which expands his pitching repertoire.

It's too bad he got no run support from his teammates.

never thought i wouldve seen Pelfrey get a save in the year.....i thought todd zeile was going to have to come back from retirement and pitch us a inning (plz tell me im not the only one who remembers him pitching against the expos back in '04)
