Remember, our offer was in February for an out-of-shape Darko on the remainder of his $7.5 mil, and we still threw $800,000 of prorated cap space to NYK. This summer, he'll be in better shape, have shown he can play some with us, and probably raised his value.
I agree though that it will come down to Darko. His previous statements made it sound like he really wanted to go back to Europe. I suppose we can hope he gives us a discount for opportunity, but most people in the workplace won't accept to be paid like an assistant if they will be given the responsibilities of the lead worker.
