+1 ^ that's probably gonna be ron's problem in this series

offensively I'm not worried about him...ron always brings it in the playoffs

Shoot. Some of my predictions were off. Ah well. All that mattered was that first prediction. And from the look of it, we were all winners today.

Now whose job is it to get thread number 2 going? Lets get this thread started. I'm ready to go.

OK won the last 3 quarters, so they lead the series .75 to .25.

Good start for us. But, if we want to win this serie, we still have to fix our offense. We can't go far in the playoffs shooting in the low 40s or high 30s all the time. Kobe needs to find a way to get some easy buckets instead of shooting jumpers all game long.

I'd have to think he'd know to adjust. Or get a few calls early and figure it out from there. Either way Artest seems to get superstar calls for his defense. So it seems to balance out with Durant.

This is how it is when the team doesn't have a cerebral floor general.

Kobe is capable, but not always willing.

I laugh at folks that say we don't need a real PG just someone that can defend and shoot.

Although we can defenitely "get by" with a PG defender/shooter, the Lakers really need a guy to run the offense and get the ball to wherever there is an advantage ... more times than not that's in the post ... Jason Kidd would've been so good for us ... oh well.

c'mon man didnt you read the book, we couldve had Kidd and Marion but it wouldve cost us the black mamba

The Skyhook wrote:Lamar Odom needs to be more aggressive early on. There were so many opportunities that Lamar had and just didn't take advantage of it. I see Phil letting Lamar know that he needs to get the bench going because there is going to be one tough ass road ahead of the Lakers if Lamar is a no show.

I don't even know where to begin with Ron Artest when it came to his offense however his defense did make up for it. Durant was clearly bothered. I don't know what has happened to Ron's 3 point shot but last season when he was on the Rockets he was hitting 3s all series long if i recall.

the thing is lamar doesnt have an advantage in this series, green and ibaka are perfect defenders for him,, good luck in the series LO

the good thing is that pretty much no team that has someonee that can match up to pau, gasol AND bynum. we can create a mismatch with one of those 3 bigs anytime we want.

artest' offense was off, but it was understandable. weve seen it before, when you are so focused and concentrated on stopping the opponents #1 scoring threat, your offense suffers. props to artest, because he might not have another amazing defensive game like he had in game 1. However, his physical play is what is needed against players of this caliber. next round? he might take melo. next round and the next. hes got the tough assignment, but he has shown he has the right stuff to at least get in their face and challenge. thats all we ask, just challenge their number one scorer. and he will do that . . .
